PRIMARY COLOURS

RED

BLUE

YELLOW
- are the basis of all other shades and cannot be created by combining other colours. Mixed together
in equal amounts, they will make BLACK.

SECONDARY COLOURS
- are the colours created by mixing two primary colours together, forming three secondary colours:

VIOLET (made up of red and blue)

ORANGE (made up of red and yellow)

GREEN (made up of yellow and blue)

TERTIARY COLOURS
- come from mixing one primary with another secondary colour. They are six:

SAFFRON (red and orange)

LIME (yellow and green)
LAVANDER ( blue and violet)
PURPLE (red and violet)
AMBER (yellow with orange)
TURQUOISE (blue with green)

COLD COLOURS have a high proportion of blue and create a calming effect

WARM COLOURS have more red and yellow. They are energizing.
