Our model 2060 winch,
is designed for new con-
struction, reconductoring
or coiling old conductor. It
is a new concept in winch
design. Built to comply
with the latest CE regula-
tions, it is constructed in
manageable units, engine
and gearbox, pole frame
and drum holding frame,
capstan wheel and the rope
drum. The drive unit has a
dead-mans handle which
retains the load when the
lever is released, it has full
forward and reverse gea-

The advantages of a capstan winch and drum winch have been combined in
this machine. The machine has dual capstan wheels. You continuously have
access to a maximum pulling force of 1000 kg. The winch has two speeds
as standard. A dynamometer and adjustable overflow valve are available for
when running an overhead cable.

 Line Machine 2241
Line machine 2241 is a
hydraulic powered drum
winch that replaces our
popular 902 model.
Variable control of the
pulling force and drum
speed. The machine is
equipped with a nega-
tive brake function that
prevents the line running
out when stopped. The
machine is equipped
with a petrol driven
hydraulic unit. The unit
features an integrated
cooling fan that provi-
des good oil cooling,
even with extended and
demanding usage.
Double hydraulic support
legs at the front and a heavy-duty sup-
port wheel at the rear permit the machine
to be set up for work in an easy and safe
manner. Equipped with a hydraulically ad-
justable line spreader. The winch is supp-
lied with a fourth wheel axle that features
both a push-on and parking brake.
Available for the winch are pilot rope
drums with 3 x 1500 m, rope, split dis-
mantling drums in different designs, see
page 17.
The machine is supplied with a 70 mm
axle for a wooden drum.

Line machine 2280 is a capstan winch with a pulling force of 3 tonnes.

The machine is ideal for new installation as well as line replacement were
a large continuous pulling force is required. The machine can be equipped
with several different drums.
Drum installation and dismantling takes place via an adjustable drum cradle
which is controlled by double hydraulic cylinders.
There is instrumentation for pulling force, line speed, engine values and
operating time.

Capstan winch with a pulling force of 6 tonnes for new installation and line

Line machine 2103 is also available in a
version designed for pulling underground
cables, and it is then fitted with steel
wire driven by the capstan wheels. In this
version, the machine is fitted with a dyna-
mometer in which the highest permitted
pulling force can be set.

Sahlins cable feeder
5050 pushes the
cable in the cableduct

Fully automatic control equipment can be
connected to the fibre optic cable feeder.
When running cables in ducts, a number
of feeders are connected in series and the
feeders are adjusted smoothly from stop
to maximum speed.

Hydraulic Power Pack

This hydraulic unit can power many dif-

ferent machines, including fibreoptic cable
feeders. The engine is a four-stroke engine
developing 6 or 13 hp. It has a built-in fan
and cooling channels that ensure efficient
cooling of the oil.
The hydraulic unit is also available as a
variant with an electric motor.

Sahlins hydraulic blowing equipment 3015
is designed to efficiently and safely lay
fibre cable in protective duct. The machine
is equipped to handle blowing and water
jetting.

The equipment works according to the

push-pull principle, which means the cable
is slid forwards by the hydraulic drive
feeder and that the cable is carried for-
ward by air or water. The advantage of the
separate hydraulic power pack is that the

Fibreglass Rods
Sahlins patented fibreglass rods are excellent aids for running pilot
ropes in ducts. Their flexibility and smooth surface allows them to
pass easily through narrow passages. The rods consist of three parts:
an inner copper conductor, a fibreglass reinforced core, and an outer
casing made of HD Polyethylene, which is smooth, strong, and wea-
ther resistant. The integrated copper conductor enables the rod to be
easily located by various methods. The rod is also a good tool for in-
spection and cleaning of water & sewage pipes, and ventilation pipes.

Our ropes are 3-ply rope of the highest
quality, consisting of 70 % polythene
and 30 % polypropylene.
The rope is extremely high in strength
in relation to its weight and in combi-
nation with low elongation is ideal for
drawing over long distances. The rope
is characterised by high strength, is
UV-stabilised and floats in water. Rope
elongation is very low, up to 75 % of
the ultimate breaking load.
