Compare the Major Systems

of the Human Body

By Jake and Tony
Digestive System
Function of the system necessary for life:

The Job of this system is to digest the food you eat and
turn it to energy.

Organs in the system:

Esophagus
Stomach
Small and Large intestine

Interesting fact: It takes 6-8 Hours to digest food!

Circulatory System
Function of the system necessary for life:

The job of this system is to carry oxygen and nutrients

around the body.

Organs in the system:

The Heart
The Arteries
Blood

Interesting fact: If you lay out all your arteries, and veins it would
go around the world twice!
Respiratory System
Function of the system necessary for life:

The job of this system is to breathe in O2 and give it to the

capillaries and give off waste: CO2.

Organs in the system:

Trachea
Lungs
Alveoli

Interesting fact: There are hairs in your nose called cilia that
prevent dust from getting into your lungs!
Nervous System
Function of the system necessary for life:

The job of this system is to control the other body systems.

Organs in the system:

The Brain
The Spinal Cord
The Nerves

Interesting fact: Your brain can receive a signal and react in a

millisecond!
Muscular System
Function of the system necessary for life:

The job of this system is make movement possible.

Organs in the system:

Anconeus
Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL)
Subscapularis Tendons

Interesting fact: Without Muscles you would not be able to

breath or move!
Skeletal System
Function of the system necessary for life:

The job of this system is to provide structure for an

organism and help it move, and protect the organs in the
chest, and create blood

Organs in the system:

Femur
Cranium
Tibia

Interesting fact: The Human Body is made of 206 bones!

How do the systems work together to maintain the
health and fitness of the human body?
Provide at least 3 detailed examples of how the body systems work together.

1. The Respiratory, Digestive, and Circulatory systems work together by - Your

lungs breathe and give it to the circulatory system to give to the brain and the
digestive work together and digest food to give to the blood to give to the
brain, and your muscular system pump the blood to the brain and help you
breathe.
2. The Muscular and Skeletal work together to provide structure and make
movement possible
3. The nervous system work with all the other systems because the brain sends
signals for all your other systems to do there job.
