Meaning
When instructing the BTS to activate the reserved channels and TRXs, the BSC starts the timer. If the
BSC does not receive any response message from the BTS after the timer expires, reserving
channels and TRXs fails.
Timer for the BSC to wait for the MS paging response after sending a paging message. If this timer
expires, the BSC resends the paging message by LAC or LAI. It is recommended that the value of
this parameter be less than the MSC repaging timer length.
Duration of the timer to wait for the reply from the peer during the IP path live test
Used along with "Abis Flow Control Timer 2" to control the change in cell flow control levels. When the
flow control level in the cell changes, the values of MS MAX Retrans and Tx-integer in the system
information are changed accordingly.
When immediate assignment fails, the BSC starts T1 and T2.
Used along with "Abis Flow Control Timer 1" to control the change in cell flow control levels. When the
flow control level in the cell changes, the values of MS MAX Retrans and Tx-integer in the system
information are changed accordingly.
When immediate assignment fails, the BSC starts T1 and T2.
A timer for the BSC to wait for a Clear Command message after sending a Clear Request message to
the MSC. If the BSC does not receive a Clear Command message from the MSC within the time
specified by this parameter, the BSC releases the call.
A timer for the BSC to wait for a release confirmation message after sending an A interface-
connection release request message.
Timer T1, specifying the duration of monitoring the BVC blocking (unblocking) procedure.
Timer T3. T3 is started after the message SUSPEND is received on the BSC side. T3 is stopped after
the message SUSPEND ACK is received.
Timer T6. This timer is triggered after the BSC sends a DOWNLOAD-BSS-PFC message to the
SGSN. If the timer expires but the SGSN has not received the message, the BSC resends the
message to the SGSN. The timer stops after the BSC receives a CREATE-BSS-PFC message from
the SGSN.
T200 Timer in the LAPD protocol. The value of the timer indicates the time when the LAPD link waits
for the response or acknowledgement frame after sending the command frame.
T203 Timer in the LAPD protocol. The value of the timer indicates the maximum duration for no frame
exchange in the LAPD link.
This parameter specifies the expiry value of timer T200 used for the FACCH/TCHF over the Um
interface. For the function of timer T200 and the effect of the parameter, see the description of "T200
SDCCH".
This parameter specifies the expiry value of timer T200 used for the FACCH/TCHH over the Um
interface. For the function of timer T200 and the effect of the parameter, see the description of "T200
SDCCH".
This parameter specifies the expiry value of timer T200 used for the SACCH over the Um interface
when the TCH supports SAPI3 services. For the function of timer T200 and the effect of the
parameter, see the description of "T200 SDCCH".
This parameter specifies the expiry value of timer T200 used for the SACCH on the SDCCH.
For the function of timer T200 and the effect of the parameter, see the description of "T200 SDCCH".
This parameter specifies the expiry value of timer T200 used for the SACCH over the Um interface
when the TCH supports SAPI0 services. For the function of timer T200 and the effect of the
parameter, see the description of "T200 SDCCH".
This parameter specifies the timeout value of timer T200 used for the SDCCH over the Um interface.
T200 prevents the data link layer from deadlock during data transmission. The data link layer
transforms the physical link that is vulnerable to errors into a sequential error-free data link. The
entities at the two ends of this data link use the acknowledgement retransmission mechanism.
Each message must be confirmed by the peer end. In unknown cases, both ends are waiting if a
message is lost. At this time, the deadlock of the system occurs. Therefore, the transmit end must
establish a timer. When the timer expires, the transmit end regards that the receive end does not
receive the message and then the transmit end retransmits the message. The number of
retransmissions is determined by N200. T200 and the N200 ensure that the data link layer
sequentially transmits data and that the transmission is error-free.
This parameter specifies the expiry value of timer T200 when the SDCCH supports SAPI3 services.
For the function of timer T200 and the effect of the parameter, see the description of "T200 SDCCH".
When the BTS sends physical information to the MS, the BTS starts the timer T3105. If the timer
T3105 expires before the BTS receives the SAMB frame from MS, the BTS resends physical
information to the MS and restarts the timer T3105. The maximum times for resending physical
information is "Max Resend Times of Phy.Info.". For details, see GSM Rec. 04.08 and 08.58.
Timer of penalty on a neighboring cell when a handover fails due to faults of air interface connection.
This parameter specifies the length of the timer for periodic location update. This parameter must
work with the "Implicit IMSI detach timer" on the MSC side. Set this parameter to half the value of the
"Implicit IMSI detach timer" on the MSC side.
Duration of timer T3169. For details, see 3GPP TS44.060.
T3168 is used to set the maximum duration for the MS to wait for the uplink assignment message.
After the MS originates the uplink TBF setup request by sending the packet resource request or the
channel request in the packet uplink acknowledge message, the timer T3168 is started to wait for the
packet uplink assignment message on the network side. If the MS receives the packet uplink
assignment message before T3168 expires, T3168 is reset. Otherwise, the MS originates the packet
access request for four times. Then the MS regards this as the TBF setup failure.
Duration of releasing the TBF after the MS receives the last data block. When the MS receives the
RLC data block containing the flag identifying the last data block and confirms that all the RLC data
blocks in the TBF are received, the MS sends the packet downlink acknowledge message containing
the last flag acknowledgement and the timer T3192 is started. If the timer T3192 expires, the MS
releases the TBF related resources and starts monitoring the paging channel. During TBF releasing, if
the MS is the half duplex mode and receives the packet downlink assignment, the MS responds this
command. During TBF releasing, if the MS is the half duplex mode and receives no packet downlink
assignment message, the MS enters the packet idle mode. If the MS is in the dual transmission
mode, the MS enters the special mode.
Whether an MS delays in sending the Packet Uplink Ack/Nack massage (FAI = 1) in an uplink TBF
when this message conflicts with the T3192 on the MS side.
ON: Delay
OFF: Not delay
A timer for the BSC to wait for a Mode Modify ACK or Mode Modify NACK message after sending a
Mode Modify message to the BTS. If the BSC does not receive a Mode Modify ACK or Mode Modify
NACK message from the BTS within the time specified by this parameter, the BSC releases the call.
Length of the T3230 timer. MIN0 indicates that the CHANNEL RELEASE or PACKET
MEASUREMENT ORDER message does not carry the T3230 timer. For details about this parameter,
see 3GPP TS 44.018 or 44.060.
Duration in which the BSC waits for a response from the MSC after forwarding the Location Update
Request message from an MS to the MSC in the MOCNII scenario.
When a normal changeback cannot be initiated, services will be changed back to a normal link only
after this timer expires to avoid disorder of data.
Length of the timer set to delay sending a HO CMD message to the MS. Before the timer expires, the
BSC cannot send a HO CMD to the MS.
Whether to reserve resources for the incoming BSC handover on the Iur-g interface. If this parameter
is set to YES, the BSC reserves resources for an incoming BSC handover. In this case, ensure that
the speech version allowed by the target handover cell is contained within the speech versions
configured on the MSC side. When reserving resources for an incoming BSC handover, the BSC
selects the highest-priority speech version from the intersection of speech versions supported by MSs
and the target handover cell. (The speech version priorities are as follows: FR AMR-WB > FR AMR >
EFR > FR ; HR AMR > HR.) After the resources are reserved, if the speech versions in the
HANDOVER REQUEST message received from the MSC do not include the selected speech version,
the handover fails.
Whether to optimize the call drops resulting from forced handover failure. The value 0 means
"optimize" and 1 means "not optimize". If the value of this parameter is 0, the call drops resulting from
this cause are not brought into the statistics of call drops.
Whether to optimize the call drops resulting from the timeout of the Handover Complete message
during an incoming BSC handover. The value 0 means "optimize" and 1 means "not optimize". If the
value of this parameter is 0, the call drops resulting from this cause are not counted into the statistics
of call drops or failed incoming BSC handovers.
Whether to optimize the call drops resulting from the timeout of the Handover Complete message
during an outgoing internal inter-cell handover. The value 0 means "optimize" and 1 means "not
optimize". If the value of this parameter is 0, the call drops resulting from this cause are not counted
into the statistics of call drops or failed outgoing internal inter-cell handovers (non directed retries).
This parameter specifies the interval at which the speech service on a TCH is handed over.
This parameter specifies whether to perform periodic intra-cell handover for speech services on TCH.
Length of the timer set to delay sending a HO CMD message to the MS. Before the timer expires, the
BSC cannot send a HO CMD to the MS.
