METHODOLOGY A questionnaire structured by NAEM Interview and observation Picked up 35 male and
25 female respondents ranging from 15-75 years of age Collected data from different documents
preserved in the offices of UNO, Union Council and Upazilla Statistics Office

LIMITATIONS sample size was only 60 that dont obviously represent the whole community The time
period given to us was very short for any research work. Questionnaire seemed not organized enough
to bring on the real scenario.

of secondary level have to go to Sadar for schooling Only one primary school Good number of
guardians expect their children to complete graduation or above level. BUT

Impact of education on employment Main occupation is Agriculture 76% female inhabitants said
housewife as their profession. Actually they are treated as unemployed in our society. 30% of them do
not have any income; of which most are women. Only 15% earn more than 10000 a month

Impact of education on birth control Sons opinion considered important in marriage but daughters
opinion do not hold same. But 20% people do not practice 75% want sons opinion before marriage
whereas only 58% want daughters. Everyone admits the necessity of family planning

Effects of education on women empowerment Woman have a little acceptance to place opinion in
family. Women give priority to their family affairs & family decision to expend their own income. 44% of
the respondents said women are never asked for any opinion

Health facilities in the village Govt. Health complex appeared to be an effective one. 90% people rely
upon the institution for primary treatment.

Recreation facilities in the village About 60% people take SLEEPING as their main recreation

Participation in social program People have a little time for social program. 58% of them only join
programs sometimes. Visiting relatives depend mostly upon mobile phones now a days.

Recommendations The village requires more educational institutions like primary and secondary
schools. A health center or clinic is extremely necessary so that the villagers can receive treatment in
times of emergency. Training on self-employment especially for women can contribute a lot to the
economy of the village. Club, library, playground and some other recreational facilities should be
established in the village.
