in Nondestructive Testing (2016) Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A
provides guidelines for employers to establish in-house certification programs for
the qualification and certification of nondestructive testing personnel. Since 1966,
employers have used this industry-valued document as the general framework for
their NDT certification programs.

This ASNT standard establishes the minimum requirements for the qualification
and certification of nondestructive testing (NDT) and predictive maintenance
(PdM) personnel.

This standard details the minimum training, education, and experience

requirements for NDT personnel and provides criteria for documenting
qualifications and certification.
