HOSPITAL DESIGN
INTRODUCTION
Hospital is one of the most important and integrated part of human society. A hospital is an
institution for health care providing patient treatment by specialized staff and equipments.it often
provides facility for long term patient stay, any hospital is categorized by the size of beds it handles.
Types of specialised hospitals include trauma centres, rehabilitation hospitals, children's hospitals,
seniors' (geriatric) hospitals, and hospitals for dealing with specific medical needs such
as psychiatric problems, certain disease categories such as cardiac, oncology, or orthopaedic
problems, and so forth. Students need to design 100 bedded super speciality hospital based on one
super speciality mentioned below.
Four super specialities includes-
Cardiology-the branch of medicine that deals with diseases and abnormalities of the heart.
Orthology- the branch of medicine that deals with diseases and abnormalities of the bones
and muscles.
Paediatric and gynaecology- Paediatric is the branch of medicine that deals with
the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, and the
age limit usually ranges from birth up to 18.
Gynaecology is the medical practice dealing with the health of
the female reproductive systems.
E.N.T- Abbreviation for ears, nose and throat. A field of medicine also called otolaryngology.
