PLC - Baselines, Next Steps PLC
District Benchmark Meetings Next Math PLC - October 5th. Meeting starts at 8:15 with the
AVMR - Support/Refresher exception that the team has the 2nd chapter of your math
anchor text read (Primary K-2: Math Workshop, Upper 3-5:
Minds on Mathematics)
Moving forward - Have someone to support discussions
about AVMR at PLC, then How do we use this
data/information in math workshop models? How can we
use the math resource library?
Checked in on grade level PLCs - many teams using data from
AVMR and common assessments to figure out gaps and next
steps for students
District Benchmark Meetings
Email will be sent about Math Benchmark meetings. It will
have directions on how to secure a sub and details about a
week before the meeting.
K: Oct 18th
1st: Nov 15
2nd: Oct 12
3rd: Nov 17
4th: Oct 11
5th: Oct 5
Focus is on fractions/measurement: knowing the math and
how it expands from grade to grade, differentiation,
benchmarks, K-6
AVMR - Support/Refresher
Work on getting baseline for students - Structuring is a great
place to start if not sure where to go.
Kindergarten does Structuring and the Number ID
New update to the structuring scoring
Conversation of how to score structuring
2nd grade start with structuring and addition/subtraction
3rd grade could look at previous grade level info
Expectations: Keep front cover sheets - this gives more
information about the data but do not have to put score into
ICUE because of hard system to see/understand data
Can use same sheet - color code each time you give
the assessment.
Pass forward the cover sheet to next grade level to
support next year teacher.
Sunrise refresher course or support at PLC for AVMR and
next steps
Heidi has videos to use for refresher times.
Apply: Notes:
Heidi and Colleen (math recovery) can only take a couple
Application Agreement: students for math interventions school wide - That means
the majority of interventions need to take place in the
classroom.
End of the year - Have a specific folder to put math data into
pass on each year similar to Literacy. (Heidi has blue folders
that can be used for this purpose.)
Reflect (2 minutes) Notes:
Reflect on one thing that worked well in todays meeting. We are using data to support next steps for student learning!
Even with some bumps we are making a difference to
support our students where they are at!
Share one thing that could be improved on in future We are way ahead of the game on our workshop model!!!
