Description
International Billing Mediation Device(iBMD)
Convergys Mediation Manager (CMM) was older system used by TMUK for
mediation purpose in early days. iBMD replaced the CMM after the migration.
iBMD – International Billing Mediation Device is the application that helps to billing
for customers. iBMD interacts with various applications. Major process of this
application is to collect raw, RNCDR files from various source systems, filter the
records according to the business norms and forwards it to the different target
systems.
Collection:
iBMD collects the raw files from network switches, RNCDR files from rating
systems and other files from different source systems.
Filtering:

Major role of iBMD is filtering non billable records from billing files. It filters the
records according to business norms reside in iBMD as configuration tables and
core code.
Forwarding:
iBMD forwards the output files as input to various rating and billing systems. iBMD
filters the records according to the rule specified.
Responsibilities:
• Impact analysing and Validating the Change Request document from the Client
• Writen Test cases and executed test cases.
• Performed Regression, System Integration Testing.
• Execution of Test Cases and Bug Reporting.
• Managing 2 different projects for more than a year.
Description
Business process
SubSe provides the service for specific period of time and it is charged. Recurring
charge occurs every specified period of time until the customer suspends the
subscription. It also forward the charging details to CSM (customer Management
System) for billing the services used.
Prepay customers must have sufficient money to purchase the service. When the
subscription is success, the money from his account is deducted. Recurring
charge will occur every specified period of time and will fail when customer does
not have enough money to continue using the subscription.

It’s a charging platform for prepay and postpay customers. The client offers
'content' like Daily horoscope per SMS, ring tones and logos download, interactive
games and WAP services - sports news or streaming media etc. All these facilites
provided to the Customer are being charged via this application. Also it manages
the charging for content purchased from third party content providers.
Client should have the contract with third party content provider before the
contents being purchased by customer. Also the Charging Engine supports
subscription application for payment and billing.
Charging Engine gets the payment transaction request from third party content
provider or from Subscription application. When it receives the request from
Subscription application, it validates the customer by checking existence of
customer, customer type etc. If the customer is valid, then it allows purchasing
the content.

• Execution of Test Cases, Impact Analysis and Bug Reporting.
• Co-ordinate and support different downstream system for solution testing
