Week at a Glance
PLEASE NOTE:
This week is the first of two weeks set aside
to work on your mission paper final copy.
This does not mean it is a no homework
week. Please refer to the letter given to
everyone today explaining more in detail
how this works.

Reading Logs & signatures will NOT be checked!
Reading Lotto
The third Rate the Book was due
today. Now its time to start reading
your third book. Remember, you
can turn in your Reading Lotto
early! Turning it in early will earn
you coupons for your last Reading
Lotto. Woo Hoo!. Some of you have actually turned in
your third Reading Lotto! That means you can choose
to start reading for your Blackout Lotto (AKA Blotto)!
This is not required, but if you do go for it, remember
that you do NOT need to write any book reports. You
just do the reading and get signatures. Everyone who
completes a Blotto by June will get to participate in an
all day Read-O-Rama!
Valentines Day
Our party is NEXT TUESDAY!
Party!
Students may bring valentine cards
to pass out. However, it is required
to include everyone in the class. The list of
names is included on the back of the Listening
Post this week. You may attach a small treat/
candy to your valentines (optional).

Research Paper
We have all reached a proud moment...everyone has
successfully researched and written all required
paragraphs for the mission research paper. Yea!!
Give yourself a pat on the back!
Now....for the final step.
For the next two weeks your task is to take all 3
paragraphs and type them into the final copy.
Please remember the following:

Type all the paragraphs and remember to make all
corrections! Refer to letter given out today
with details about the homework requirements.
Refer to the Research Paper Evaluation
Guidelines on our website to find out how you need
to type up and present your report. This will explain
how the final copy must be formatted. It also
explains how points will be distributed.
The example of Suzie Qs final report is on the
website. This will give you a concrete example of
what YOUR paper should look like. You can see the
basic requirements edition this week. Next week
you will be able to see the version that includes
some extra credit.
You will be typing your final copy on Google
Docs. This must be shared with me.
You are not allowed to move on to any extra
credit this week UNLESS I see that the basic
requirements have been met and I sign you off.
Look for my signature in your agenda. This will
probably not happen until next week.
Once you get my approval, you may refer to the
Extra Credit Guidelines to give you ideas for extra
credit.
Dont toss those rough draft paragraphs. You
will be required to turn them in.
Remember, this final draft is YOUR work, not
your parents work. YOU must do the typing and
fixing, not Mom or Dad. Your parents ARE
allowed to help you with spelling, grammar, and
making sure you are correctly formatting.
Remember, you dont want to lose points for
requirements that are easy to follow.
