The research aims to evaluate educational objective of affective domain


for Class VIII of SMPN 4 Karawang Barat. The less structured system is the core
concern of the study.
The research was conducted for two months during learning session of
even semester. The learning evaluation procedure was applied for this research
along with qualitative method. It consists of pre research, field survey, data
analysis and reporting. Data collection technique covers interview, observation,
in field record and documents study. Data analysis was carried through data
reduction, data categorization, synthesis, and arranging hypothesis. To verify data
validity, triangulation technique of resource and method was applied.
The research shows a discrepancy between government regulation which
requested the affective domain assessment in aesthetic study with dance learning
as a subject matter in art and culture study. In fact, the syllabus and lesson plans
that includes domain affective which teacher made and implemented it in class
didnt succeed optimally. Therefore, it is essential to improve the affective domain
to reach comprehensive result of those three prominent aspects in dance
education.
This study reveals the benefit of using affective domain assessment and
the consequence of not implementing it. For instance, the assessment will assist to
measure the student attitude which affects the learning interest. Further, it also
influences the learning success of the other two areas. Meanwhile, the absence of
affective assessment demonstrates the declining objective of dance education as a
branch of social science into a common arts performance.
