3. Hazards identification

Hazard description HEALTH: Irritating to eyes and skin. Contact with acids or ammonia liberates
toxic gas.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION: No fire hazard related to this product.
ENVIRONMENT: Normal use of the product is not expected to cause any

damage to the environment. Accidental release of large amounts may due to
the product's high pH, cause temporary damage to plants and aquatic life.
Hypochlorite will decompose to sodium chloride and oxygen.

4. First-aid procedures
General Show this material safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Inhalation If feeling uncomfortable - seek fresh air.
Skin contact After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Take off
immediately all contaminated clothing.
Eye contact Remove any contact lenses. Flush with large ammounts of water (also under
eyelids) for at least 15 minuttes. Contact physician.
Ingestion Drink 2-3 glasses of water or milk. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get
medical advice.

5. Firefighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.
Fire and explosion hazards The product is not flammable. It may be released gas of chlorine during
extensive heating and fire.
Personal protective equipment Use supplied-air respirator if substance is involved in fire.

Methods for cleaning Take up mechanically and collect in suitable container. Dispose as hazardous
waste. Small quantities should be rinsed away with plenty water.

Storage Store dark and cool, but frostproof. Store in original container.
Other Information A fee is payed for the collecting and recycling of this packaging. There exists
an agreement for reuse of drums and containers.
