MADISON POLICE DEPT Pag (oni: MS0450400 zea INCIDENT REPORT INGIDENT#: 2017010708 [PATE OF INGIDENT: 124/17 [TE OF INCIDENT: 10:14 [INCIDENT TYPE (SIGNAL): $36 EMBEZZLEMENT ‘Agency: MPD [nedent No: 2017010708 Date Entered: 1/24/2017 ‘Sequence: 1 Ruther” CANNON, JOHN LAWRENCE Title: 2017010708- EMBEZZLEMENT ‘On January 24, 2017 |, Officer John Cannon #500 accompanied by Officer Matthew Hendrix , was dispatched to The Landing at 111 Colony Crossing Madison, Mississippi 39110 to meet with the store owner in reference to an Embezzlement report. Upon arrival, | met with Mr. Bradford Mark Foster Jr., the store owner, in reference to the Embezzlement. Mr. Foster informed me one his workers, later identified as Ms. Decota Henry has been taking money from the store since October 29, 2016. Mr. Foster stated he caught Mrs. Henry stealing $50.00 in cash from The Landing on Saturday January 21, 2017. Mr. Foster also stated Ms. Henry had reversed the receipt in the computer in Quickbooks (their point of sale). Mr. Foster also informed me he went back to check every time Ms. Henry logged in from her start date and matched that with every reversed cash receipt she had done. Mr. Foster gave me a sheet of the all the reverse cash transaction receipts Ms. Henry made that total up to $3,578.53. The manager of the store, Mrs. Braden Haynes, stated that she worked Saturday January 21, 2017 with Ms, Henry from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Mrs. Haynes informed me that she conducted a cash transaction for $51.00 at 2:13 P.M. from Ken Looney. Mrs. Haynes stated at approximately. 5:00 P.M. Ms. Henry took out the trash and “counted down drawer 2.” Mrs. Haynes informed me that Ms. Henry stated ‘I placed any cash from drawer 1 above $250.00 into drawer 1.” Mrs. Haynes also stated that Ms. Henry left the store at approximately 5:06 P.M. and that she counted both drawers at 6:00 P.M. that night, noticing the fifty dollar bill was’missing from drawer 1 Mrs. Haynes stated she texted Ms. Henry about the missing money, but Ms. Henry denied everything. Mrs. Haynes explained that on Sunday, January 22, 2017, she found a cash transaction had been reversed. Mrs. Haynes stated it was the same $51.00 transaction from Ken Looney. Mrs. Haynes stated she had Mr. Foster review the cameras where they saw Ms. Henry pretend to take the trash out, but instead Ms. Henry took the cash . Mrs. Haynes and Mr. Foster filled out voluntary statement forms and received a copy. Mr. Foster signed charges against Mrs. Henry for Felony Embezzlement and also received an exhibit “D” form. Mr, Foster also received a case card with a case number on it. Mr. Foster was informed once they were able to have the security footage downloaded to a disc to contact the Madison Police Department. Mr. Foster was also informed if they had any more information to contact the Madison Police Department. Mrs. Henry was placed into custody at 1042 hours and transported from The Landing (BM: 86394) to the Madison Police Department (EM: 86396) to go through the booking-pyocess. | served Ms. Henry a warrant (Warrant #: 13802) for Felony Embezzlement charges. Mrs. Henry received a copy of the General Affidavit and also received a copy of her warrant. Mrs. Henry was asked if she would like to feel out a voluntary statement after she was read her Miranda Rights, and she refused to feel out a MADISON POLICE DEPT Page: 4 (ORI#: miS0450400 INCIDENT REPORT INCIDENT # 2017010708 DATE OF INCIDENT: 1/24/17 [TIME OF INCIDENT: INCIDENT TYPE (SIGNAL): $36 EMBEZZLEMENT 14 Statement. Ms. Henry was allowed fo make a phone call and then transported from the Madison Police Department (BM: 86396) to the Madison County Jail (EM: 86408) at approximately 1226 hours. Ms. Henry was informed she would have to see a judge before she could post bail. Judge Dale Danks contacted Mrs. Penny McElory and informed her the bond would be set at $50,000.00 surety bond. Mrs. Henry black Nissan Altima key was placed into evidence. Nothing further to report at this time.
