Letter from Public Affairs
Attention cadets and cadet staff, our 2016-2017
school year is off to a running start and wont be
slowing down any time soon. I want to
congratulate the newly appointed Commanders
and Staff who will guide our unit this year.
Everyone should be giving them support and let
us strive to have a productive and safe year. Our
mission as a JROTC unit is to, Develop citizens
of character dedicated to serve their nation and
community. Our unit has done this by serving
those who have served and community clean up.
Be involved! Our unit offers lots of opportunities
for community and school service, you can make
a difference. Cadets can also volunteer to
participate in our special teams such as, unarmed
basic regulation drill, armed drill, color guard, and
unarmed exhibition. The information that is
presented will give detailed notifications of our unit
throughout this semester.

Veterans Day Events
Veterans Day, is the anniversary of signing of the
armistice, which ended World War 1 hostilities
between allied nations and Germany in 1918. This
day honors veterans who have served or who are
still serving for our rights. Our cadets show
gratitude and appreciation by volunteering at
restaurants to greet and listen to their inspiring
stories. Our cadets volunteered at Applebees and
Golden Corral. Veterans were moved to tears
telling about their past; some lost their brothers in
war and were so grateful that the cadets cared
and were genuinely interested. Our color guard
presented the colors at Golden Corral; the color
guard as a whole felt honored when they
performed because they were giving respect to
the veterans. All the veterans felt proud because
they saw cadets volunteering their time to give
back and become the

 Pauly Strong
Pauly Pietramesa was a husband, father, and an I love JROTC and teams. It has given, me an
amazing firefighter who lost his battle with opportunity to understand the true meaning of team
pancreatic cancer. He lived with this disease for work. Practice is so awesome. Ive learn how to

Our unit goal was to raise $1,500 for this firefighter
who protected our community. The money would go
to his family to support them through their hard
times. We raised money by volunteering in a
spaghetti dinner at station 80. The cadets assisted
in the food, tables, helping the elderly & children,
and thanking the firefighters who were there that
were supporting Pauly. It was bittersweet for
everyone. But, the unit in a whole were honored to
serve him.
I loved the event. I got to see a fire truck up close
for the very first time. I got to see old classmates
become fire explorers. I was touched to see that Teams has been an amazing experience, getting to
Paulys fellow firemen and women were willing to know fellow cadets, and working with them to be the
help put the event together. best, ready to bring competition.
