Utahs price markup on liquor among the highest

Among states that control liquor, Utah is No. 1 in price markup on wine and No. 6 on spirits,
according to the Alcohol Research Group. For example, the Utah Department of Alcoholic
Beverage Controls markup on a bottle of wine that cost $7.03 to make is 88 percent bringing
the retail price to $13.22.
