All class Schoology codes are on the board in green marker

Cell Phone Collection: In the morning these students should be dropping off their cell
phones if they have brought them to school. Most of these students are in the first hour
class and some of them have stopped bringing their phones to school. They should put the
phones in the clear bin that I keep behind the desk for safety. Phones are returned to
students after 2:55 pm during the last period class.

7th Graders: 8th Graders:

8:10-8:55 7th Grade: I do not currently have a seating chart for the 7th graders, but feel
free to move them if they cant handle where they are sitting.

1. They do their own lunch count using the Popsicle sticks on the front podium. They
are supposed to come in, check the lunch menu and put their stick in the red container on
the side for either hot lunch or salad bar. Students who are eating cold lunch or who are
absent leave their sticks on the podium.

2. They then are supposed to get their morning writing journal and begin writing
about the topic that I put on the board for them. I usually give them from 8:10-8:20 to do
their writing.

3. While they are writing, I use the Popsicle sticks to take attendance, get hot lunch,
salad bar and tomorrows breakfast counts. Tomorrows breakfast English muffin & peanut
butter. I just ask them to raise their hands for breakfast as there are usually only a few.

4. Call office (Betty ext: 3003) with lunch/salad/breakfast totals

5. For the remainder of class time after they finish the writing prompt, they should go
to Schoology, 7th grade Life Science, Chapter 3 Cell Processes, click the link called Cell
Transport. Read 4.1 Transport and take notes on the Cornell Notes Worksheet

6. At 8:45 xxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxx will leave class to go to Math tutoring.

Sometime at the beginning of class xxxxxxxxx may ask to leave to go check-in with her
SPED teacher

8:55-9:56 Prep time

9:56-11:26 Physical Science (9th grade): No Seating Chart

1. Yesterday we started working on how to make a pie chart. They started a

worksheet (I have some of them so they wouldnt lose them) that they will want to work on
finishing today. Theyll need protractors, colored pencils, and maybe rulers. They may need
some guidance; they had a lot of trouble yesterday understanding how to use the protractor
to find angles.

2. When theyve finished the first worksheet they can start on the second pie chart
worksheet for more practice.

3. If they complete that, they can read Chapter 2 and Chapter 11 in the Physical
Science Textbook 2 (PDF that can be found in Schoology.)

11:26-11:56 Lunch

11:56-12:40 Anatomy: Students can work on the questions in their dissection packets.
They can work individually or quietly in pairs or small groups. They will probably need to use
their resources (online, book, etc) to complete the dissection packet (due Wed).

12:42-1:26 8th Grade: I do not currently have a seating chart for the 8th graders, but feel
free to move them if they cant handle where they are sitting.

1. I have a very large worksheet packet that the students can work on INDIVIDUALLY
and QUIETLY. They will need their iPads to access chapter 6 in their textbook which they
know they can find on Schoology. They all have an iPad, so no excuses in that regard.

2. In this class there are several students who may ask to go to the SPED resource
room during work time: xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx

3. Students who may cause disruption:

xxxxxxxxx he can be sent out to work in the hall if he wont sit down and be
quiet

xxxxxxxxx she isnt allowed to be unaccompanied in the hall. If she needs

to use the restroom you need to call the social worker xxxxxxxxx ext 3053 and shell meet
xxxxxxxxx and walk her to the restroom

4. xxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxx will not arrive to class until 1:05 as they are in Math
tutoring until then

1:29-2:13 Math/Reading/Science Guided Study 1

This class is a combination of 7th and 8th graders. They should use this time to
complete homework for any of their other classes. If they seem to not have anything to do
or are causing a ruckus, they can go to MRS Guided Study 1 in Schoology, choose an article
from the Science Daily link, and use the Cornell Notes worksheet to take notes on the article
they chose. I have told them that their choices are to do homework or read an article and
take notes, so hopefully theyll make a wise choice.

xxxxxxxxx will not arrive to class until 1:40 as she is in Math tutoring until then

2:15-2:59 Math/Reading/Science Guided Study 2

Students in last hour can get their phones back at 2:55. Students in this class need to put
up their chairs and put away anything theyve been using (rulers, colored pencils, garbage,
etc.) before they leave. I was very displeased with them Monday for darting out as soon as

the bell rang without cleaning up and dragged them back to the room to clean up before
they could get on the bus.

At the end of class these students need to leave their iPads on the front black cart:
