Brief Description:
Root crop is a vegetable cultivated chiefly for its edible roots just like cassava, sweet
potato, yam, taro and etc. This food is native in the Philippines yet most people consume rice and
corn than root crops who have more nutrition and health benefits than rice and corn.
The SMiLe Production raised this event, Root crop Based Culinary Arts Seminar, to
inform students and staffs about the health benefits of root crops, the businesses that can be made
with the use of root crops, the innovative and creative way in using root crops as dishes and most
importantly to make everyone be aware that a root crop is not a poor mans food.

Goals:
To inform and educate students and staffs about Root crops.
To share business ideas to the students and staffs
To enable students to showcase their products

Handle food preparations in various hotels and establishments in the US:
Hyatt Regency in Monterey CA, Fish Hopper Restaurant, MGM Grand Hotel
Casino in Las Vegas, E & O Trading Company in San Jose, California.
Entrepreneur
regular face on the Asian Food Channel, he stars in two AFC Original
Productions, Tablescapes, where he travels through the Philippines exploring
and teaching about traditional Filipino cuisine and The Boss
Celebrity chef judge on AFCs first-ever originally produced television
cooking competition, E&O Search For AFCs Next Celebrity Chef.

Guest Lodging:
The speakers of the said event will be accommodate in the VSU Apartelle.

Promotion:

The said event will be promoted within the region via radio brodcast, tarpaulins, and
flyers for it is one of the event in the Phil Rootcrops and their scope is regional. Aside from that,
we will post our event in our Facebook website, and website of Phil Rootcrops. We will create
tarpaulins and if given any chance we will ask the support of the Entrepreneurship instructors of
different colleges to make it compulsory.

Snacks and Lunch

The Phil Rootcrops said that they will shoulder the snacks in the seminar but then they
will ask for our support during the preparation of the snacks. The snacks would be a product
made from root crops as well as the beverage.

For the speakers, their breakfast, lunch and dinner will be on VSU Guesthouse which is
just a walking distance from the VSU Apartelle. They will enjoy a round of 3 main dishes, 1 side
dish, 1 dessert, 1 beverage and other special requests. The major sponsor will also take their
lunch at VSU Guesthouse.

Decorations

The stage decoration would be simple but catchy. We will prepare the audio materials just
like microphones and speakers. We will double check the condition of the lights and air
conditions. We will also setup the chairs and two projectors. One projector and a pair of speaker
at the front and other projector and pair of speaker in the middle so that, everyone can properly
see and hear the topic. We will also add up some table for the exhibitors to showcase their
products.
