Group 5

Appetizer: Mushroom Salad with Green Beans sprinkled with garlic

Entre: Hearty Yellow Split and Green Peas Vegetable Soup.

Dessert: Grapefruit with sugar Sprinkled on top.

Beverage: Water

Meal Service style: Blue Plate service.

Mushroom Salad with Green Beans sprinkled with garlic

Ingredients:

1) 1 package of White Button Mushrooms


2) 1 yellow onion
3) 1/2 lb of green beans
4) Garlic powder
5) 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions:

1) Fill a pot with water and bring to a boil -10 min


2) Add green beans and kosher salt to taste- 1min
3) Wash the package of white button mushrooms-4 minutes
4) Take a pan and put 2 tbsp of olive oil and heat it up -1 min
5) Dice the onion and add to the heated oil and saut it -2 min
6) Add the mushrooms and continue sauting it- 5 minutes
7) Drain the green beans and add to the mushroom pan-1 min
8) Keep sauting everything until mushrooms fully cooked-2 minutes
9) Add garlic powder for flavor -1min
Hearty Yellow Split and Green Peas Vegetable Soup.

Ingredients:

1) 1 carrot
2) 1 onion
3) 1 turnip
4) 1, Goya dried yellow split peas package (16oz)
5) 1 Del Monte can sweet peas no salt added (15oz)

Directions:

1) Take a pan and add 1 tbsp olive oil and heat it up- 2min
2) Dice onions and add to oil- 2 min
3) Dice carrot and add-2 min
4) Add cup of water and let cook till carrots soften up- 2 min
5) Dice 1 turnip and add and cook a bit -1 minute
6) Rinse and add the whole package of yellow split peas (16 oz)- 2 minutes
7) Add 2 cups and maybe more to cover all vegetables- 1 min
8) Add kosher salt to enhance flavor. (Add amount to your likening.)-1 min
9) Cook on small flame, making sure that it simmers with close lid.- 30 min
10) Drain, 1 Del Monte can sweet peas no salt added (15oz)- 2 minutes
11) Add to the vegetable soup and mix and cook an additional- 5 minutes.
12) Serve piping hot and enjoy!!!

Dessert: Ingredients:

1)1 Grape fruit and tsp of sugar.


Directions:
Wash and slice the grapefruit in half and sprinkle with tsp of sugar. - 5 min

Total time for task: 1 hour and 18minutes.
