Introduction
Music City, U.S.A.
Nashville, Tennessee earned its title of Music City, U.S.A. by being the
indisputable hub of country music. While Nashville will always hold the
heart of country music, the city has come into its own as a center for
countless other musical genres.

The new image of Music City embraces Nashville traditions while


seeking out the establishment of new traditions that stand for diversity
and innovation, aspects that this guide encourages in the usage of the
Nashville brand while also setting standards for its usage to promote a
consistent aesthetic.

The Logo
Our signature logo is comprised of three elements: the graphic, the
logotype, and the slogan.

The half record graphic symbolizes Nashvilles musical roots in a way that
is simple, bold, and not limited to country music connotations.

The word Nashville itself is in the typeface Swistblink Monthoers, which
lends a rustic yet whimsical feel to the logo that maintains the traditional
spirit of Nashville. The slogan Music City is presented in the clean
sans-serif Gotham Bold to juxtapose perfectly with the rougher Nashville.

Palette
Nashville is often portrayed as a conservative city based in
tradition and country music. Over the years, however, this
Southern town as become much more diverse both socially and
musically, and its color palette should reflect that more modern
flavor.

The new Nashvilles color palette feature playful versions of the


primary colors in order to keep in touch with the citys past while
still pointing to its vibrant future.

Typography
Gotham Book is to be used for all body text, while Gotham Bold should
be used for subheaders and to label certain elements within a design.
Swistblink Monthoers is the primary display typeface for headers, but
experimentation is always encouraged!
