Week 1 27/02/2017
Reflection
In this week we didnt hat any tasks, but the goal of this week was to get to know
eachother. We only had to make a presentation about ourselfs and present it in
while we had the tutorial. In the tutorial we also disgust de planning of the 8
weeks and a couple things about Berlin. It was fun to see everyone for the first
time and to get to know eachother. In the beginning it was hard to talk in English,
but after a while you get used to it and it went better.
Week 2 04/12/2016
Questions:
1. What are the most important things a person should have that would
increase their chances of being employed? Decide on the 5 most important
and give a short explanation why.
2. How is migration defined? Are there different categories?
3. How is employability defined? What does it all entail?
4. What is meant by first and second jobmarkets?
5. How many migrants are on the first and second jobmarket at the moment
(Germany/ Netherlands)?
6. How many migrants are full-employed at the moment (G/NL)?
7. How many migrants do an apprenticeship at the moment (G/NL)?
8. How many migrants got an academic degree (G/NL)?
9. What academic degrees?
10. Are there differences between Germany and Netherlands?

Reflection
This week was the first week that we made questions. That means we had to find
way to make these questions with the two of us. We disgust it and split the
questions between us and made it on our own. At thursday we came both to
school to finish the questions and to make the PPT . We stayed at school for the
tutorial online and we had to present our PPT.
This week we almost used only literature from the internet, because we havent
got our usernames yet for Moodle. I think we havent made the question quality
really right, because we didnt had the right literature research. My opinion is that
we could have made it better.
This was also the feedback we got from the teachers and students from the ASH.
I have learned from this week that we should use better literature. We received a
tip that we should use the website from OECD (Organisation fr Economic Co-
Operation and Development) the net time. This is a site where you can find all of
the results from every European country.
They also said that we should make the PPT next time a little bit bigger. Like
more sentence on a slide, so that they can follow the presentation better.

Reflection
The subject of this week was about issues around transition to the labour market.
It was important that we would find some information about the migrants
entering the labour market in the Netherlands and in Germany. This week we
used the site of de OECD a lot and we found the right information about it. Last
week, I just had not a good vision about the presentation we had to give in front
of the webcam. But this week I knew what they expected from us, so it was
easier for us to make the PPT and to answer the questions.
I thought the questions this week were pretty difficult. At first Lisa and I decided
whish question I would make and which one she would make. I would make
question 4, 5 & 6.
Second I read all the literature I could use for my questions. Those were hard
articles, so I read them a couple of times. If I read something that I could use I
copied it and past it in a word document. After that I made a good story of it so I
could present it at the tutorial session on Thursday.
This week I have received a better idea of IBBC and especially the HPPP model. I
read the literature about it and I understand the sequence of the project better
now. Sometimes it was harder to find the right answers, because in mine opinion
sometimes the questions were a little bit look a like wih the questions from last
week.
This week I also learned that I have to start in time to make the questions. I had a
little bit stress on Wednesday and thusdaymorning, but I was happy that I made it
before the tutorial.

e. Feel free to create your own search terms but do not forget to record
it as well
f. Name inclusion and exclusion criteria for your search strategy
g. Summarize the essence of your literature review and answer the
question

Reflection
First of all Lissa and I decided which question I would make and which
questions she would make. This week we have to learn more about the
issue of stigmatization against people with a background of migration. I
found it really interesting that we had to make these assignments,
because i really want to know the reason why migrants have more
problems to find a job than native born workers.
When I read the literature i was a little bit shocked about the fact that
migrants get discriminated by finding a job. This week we had the chance
to work with pumped and that was really nice. It was pretty a long time
ago I worked with pumped, so it was nice to repeat it. I thought it was a
good idea we had to make a mindmap. This always helps to make
connections between several subjects. Especially for literature researches.
This week I had not so much time to work on the assignments, but I made
it. I had a good communication with Lissa, so we made it complete. It was
good to talk Tuesday with the other students about the task from this
week. We had some questions that we could ask and that helps to make
the assignments.
This week was a interesting week because the subject was very interesting
and as I already said working with pumped was good for my own learning
process.

und create a Mind Map.
2. What does image of health care professionals mean based on the
literature on moodle and your own findings?
3. Summarize what image have e.g. occupational therapist, physical

health care professionals exist? Summarize your findings.
6. What conclusion you draw about the image of health care professionals in
Europe?
7. Find out how people with a migration background, in term of their

references about your statements.
8. Do you think that it is necessary to change the image of our professions?
9. 1 Read the literature about Digital Story Telling on moodle and check the

exactly know what you have to do by creating a digital story.
11.The topic for your own digital story concern the IBBC project. (After the
holidays you get detailed informations about that. I think you have to
finished it for the EEE4all conference)
12.Discuss how can your findings about the image of health care professionals
be linked to the ASH IBBC project? Is the image appropriate? Is the image
helpful in this case? Should we speak with the students about the image?
13.Which steps of the HPPP Model could be involved?
14.What ideas do you have in regard of the IBBC project? Do you have ideas
in which way we could develop the IBBC project in future?

Reflection
The goal of this week was to get information about the image of health care
professionals in the European context. This weak I was a little bit shocked about
the information in the articles. I had no idea that the image of health care
professionals were like they are. The conclusion of several articles were shocking.
The article about occupational therapy I could really imagine the opinion of the
writer, because in our country the job isnt really popular either. I think the
information we learned this week is very important for the IBBC project, because
the image of the health care professionals will be very important for this project.
This week I have got a better idea about the project and the IBBC project. That
has giving me a better feeling, because I was a little bit confused about the
project, but it gives me a good feeling that I have more information about the
project now.
For me it was good that we also had a question again about the HPPP model. Now
I see a connection between the project and the model.
This week was for me very important for my learning process. I have learned a lot
about the project and that gives me a good feeling. Before was a little bit
stressed, because I was confused, but with a good tutorial and communication
with the ASH students it worked all out well.

Week 6 15/01/2017
Questions:
1. Describe some facts about the shortage of staff in the health care sector in
European countries a. What are the main reasons that led to this situation?
(at least 4 reasons) b. Why is the rate of nursing-students decreasing in
the EU Create a clearly arranged concept-map
2. Find solutions that are discussed in policy and research.
3. How could people with a migration background be supported to work in the
health care sector, e.g. as a nurse? (NGO, companies, governments)
4. PPT Heinz: QUESTION FOR NEXT WEEK TO DISCUSS What are the reasons
that migrants with lower education are more likely to find jobs than
migrants with higher education?
5. Requirements: The literature references should be grouped together at the
end of the manuscript according to the rules of your university
6. Moderate a discussion
a. Create two polarizing questions that we are going to discuss about
next time. Topic: lack of
stuff in the health care sector.
b. Be prepared to make a statement based on the literature that you
were using for your research.
c. Digital story making
d. In preparation for the digital story you are going to create a profile
of competencies (summary of aspects/qualities) that a nursing
student should have or would benefit from. The movie is for the
applicants of the IBBC-class.
e. How can your findings be linked to the ASH IBBC project?
f. What does IBBC concerning the lack of qualified staff. Does it show
an effect or has an impact on the shortage of nurses in Germany?
g. What ideas do you have regarding the IBBC project? Summarize
your ideas and suggestions.
h. Try to find a similar project in the Netherlands and please describe
their project in detail by using a concept-map or a mind map.

Reflection
The goal of this week was to get informations about the shortage of qualified staff
in the health care sector. We also had to get familiar with moderating a
discussion. This week we learned a lot of the shortage of health care sectors in
Germany and the Netherlands. I was a little bit shocked about the shortage of
health care sectors in Germany, because in the Netherlands the problem in
health care sectors is different than in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands we
have a lot of health care professionals, but the government doesnt pay for them
anymore, so that is why we have a lack of nurses in the Netherlands. In Germany
there are to less health care students, so that is the problem of shortage of heath
care professionals in Germany.
I read the qualitativ and the quantitativ research from IBBC and this gave me a
better idea about the digital video story, because the results are telling what the
students miss in IBBC and what they liked about IBBC. Those results help us to
think about the video story and which subjects we should add in the videos.
We thought together about the competencies a nurse should have as a health
care professional. For the digital story its important that we have a good idea a
nurse should be.

Questions:
1. The attached list shows some useful aspects to help you to create the digital story
telling. Think about the contend: read this points and think about how to transfer
them in the digital story (e.g. what kind of pictures you could take, which images
you could use, which situations you want to show, do you want to use self-
designed graphics what could you say in a sensitive way to explain the situation,
do you want to use a special song and so on).
a. We hope we can visit the IBBC and students at the hospital during your
stay so that you can take pictures there.
b. The film shall motivate and prepare the participants but also clarify
activities (of nurses) in a hospital
2. Think about the structure and the sequence of the points.
a. shift work
b. practical training & disgust
c. bad smells, help people in the bathroom, wash people
d. places for the practical training are limited they cant choose the
department in the hospital
e. during the internship, the IBBC students are working together with a lot of
other students form different organizations (students who are also doing an
intern or volunteers). Sometimes the nurses don`t have enough time to
instruct / accompany all students the whole time at work
f. before they start the practical training, they should think about their
expectations, wishes and aims and also problems which could appear
g. exchange with other students could be helpful
h. What could the students do by themselves to finish the practical time
successfully
i. To have a migration background is helpful in the job
j. communication with patients
3. Use the circle you have created and complete it with direct explanations/ ideas
and suggestions
4. Download the program: Microsoft Photo Story 3 https://www.microsoft.com/en-
us/download/details.aspx?id=11132

Reflection
The goal of this week was to prepare specifically for the digital story. We made a
cycle with the things we wanted to get in the digital story, so that we would be
prepared in Berlin. We both came to school Thursday morning to make this cycle
and to discuss what we wanted to use in the digital story. We really wanted to
keep it simple but also attractive. It has to become an attractive and nice video,
so that the image of nursing becomes beater.
We made a PPT for our findings and presented this on the tutorial on Thursday.
Week 8 29/01/2017
Reflection
The only thing we needed to do this was to make a diagram with our findings
from last week. We made a diagram so that the information was more clear for us
and we could use it easier in Berlin.
This week I was so excited to go to Berlin. Lissa and I discussed what we needed
and what we have to bring to Berlin. Im very happy that we will meet everyone
tomorrow in Berlin!
Week 9&10 08/02/2017
On the 30th Januar we arrived in Berlin and hat a wonderful welcome
dinner. The students and teacher were very nice to us and it was a lot of
fun to see everyone in real. On Tuesday we went to school to get to know
each other. It was a lot of fun to do the games to get to know each other.
On Wednesday we discussed with two other students about the digital
story. We made a table with an order for the digital story. After that we
made some questions for the teachers from IBBC that we would ask them
Thursday. The communication with the other students from the ASH went
really well. We could discuss our thoughts about the digital story and the
interview questions and it went very smoothly.
The net two days we went to IBBC and the hospital to interview the
teachers and the students from IBBC. Besides that we also made some
pictures from the practical room.
In week two we have focused us on the digital story. We made first an
animation fro he video on moovly. Then I added the videos from the
interviews in movie maker. After we finished a the videos, we added the
animation from moovly in movie maker and made it to one whole video.
I learned a lot in Berlin and I thought it was a nice project where we
worked for. I hope the video can help IBBC and the job nursing to get more
nurse students.
I had an amazing time in Berlin! Everyone was so nice to us and we are
very glad that we had the opportunity to come to Berlin.
