1. Planning

1.1 Notification of Conventional Tower Cranes.

Employer must ensure that, for any conventional tower crane installed by the employer on a construction site, the
Executive is notified in writing of
(a) any thorough examination of that conventional tower crane as required by regulation 9(2) (examination before
being put into service) within 14 days of its installation.

1.2 Appointments.
Details of competent contractor appointed for lifting operation.

1.3 Nature and Scope of works.


Uploading one shriller and steel fram from the ground to the roof
1.4 Stability and Security of Cranes.
Ground conditions, crane bases, tower cranes anchor points etc, protection hoarding around tower cranes and
segregation barriers for mobile cranes, warning signage.

1.5 Selection of Lifting Plant.


Type of cranes- Telescopic Boom on wheel crane 200T

1.6 Selection of Lifting Accessories.

Type of lifting accessories to be used for lifting loads.:-


*- 4-legged wire rope sling 19mm dia,9.5 long,IWRC,hard eyes at both ends,connected to M.L.A
and fitted to Qty: 4x 3/4'' Crosby bolt type anchor shackles G2130

*-4-legged wire rope sling 13 mm dia,two legs 7.5 long and other two legs 7.85,IWRC,hard eyes

Details of any other cranes on site, adjacent overhead power lines, air fields, railways, near by occupied buildings etc,
underground sewages, man holes (where mobile or crawler cranes would be operated).

1.8 Test and thorough examination.

2. Lifting operations

2.1 Safe System of Work.

Established safe system of work including any exclusion zones etc to carry out lifting operations safely .

2.2 Description of loads.


Type of loads, weight and sizes.
Shriller unit Weight 10 ton

2.3 Competence.

Training details and certification of lifting appointed person, lifting supervisor, crane co-ordinator, crane operator and
slinger/ signaller.

2.4 Factors affecting safe lifting operations.

Weather conditions, ground conditions, nearby water sources etc.


Clear weather is required and permissible wind speed.
2.5 Slinging/ signalling.

Details of slinging/ signalling system, communication signals to be used etc.


Slinging 4-legs wire and Crosby bolt type anchor.
2.6 Communication.

Details of communication system between crane operator, slinger/ signaller, crane co-ordinator etc.
Radio communication

2.7 Safe working loads.

Details of safe working loads of the cranes and lifting accessories.


- For 160 Ton mobile crane: safe working load 10 ton at radius 30 m.
- 4-legged wire rope sling 19mm dia safe working load: 9.6 ton.
- 4x3/4" inch Crosby bolt type anchor shackles G2130,G6 safe working Load:4.75 tonnes.
