ME2523 : Fluid Mechanics-II (1) Instructor: NADEEM AHMED

ME 2513 Fluid Mechanics-I

Fluid mechanics II is the advance course offered at undergraduate level. The course covers the topics related to viscous flow,
boundary layer theory and their applications including fans, turbines and pumps. The course also includes elementary topics of
compressible flows and Turbomachinery. Keeping in view the modern trends in fluid dynamics, an introduction to numerical
analysis and CFD is also included.

After studying this course the students should be able to:

Understanding the behavior of viscous fluid dynamics.

To be able to analyze the problems related to basic incompressible viscous flows.

Understand the characteristics of boundary layer and calculate the forces acting on submerged bodies in external
flows.

To learn the basic methods for analysis of ideal compressible flows.

To develop the understanding of numerical methods used in CFD by solving problems of elementary fluid dynamics.

To apprehend the applications of techniques useful for industrial applications such as turbo-machines.
