9 mins Beginning the Lesson

Opening Prayer
Teacher will open the class in a word of prayer.

Instructions for Charades:


Teacher tells the student what she/he expects from the students during the activity.

Teacher will divide the class into 2 groups. Teacher will pick a blue paper that is
labelled 1 and 2 this will determine who will go first. Group who goes first will
decide who will act out. Student who acts will be given a limited time= 1 min. If
ever the group wasnt able to guess then the next group can steal, but this time the

actor/actress will not do the actions anymore. They will be given only one
opportunity to steal. If they are wrong then points do not go to anyone.

Developing the Lesson

Message
Teacher will relate the activity to the bible verse.
*Actor serves as light to guide the people
Ask how hard it will be for people to come and know Christ if there is no one to
guide them? How will spiritually blind people see who Jesus is without shining a
light for them to see? It is important for us to know the reason why we are here.

Bible Verse:
Matthew 5: 13-16
2 min Let me tell you why you are here. Youre here to be salt-seasoning that brings out
the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste
godliness? Youve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage. Heres
another way to put it: Youre here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the
world. God is not a secret to be kept. Were going public with this, as public as a
city on a hill. If I make you light bearers, you dont think Im going to hide you
under a bucket, do you? Im putting you on a light stand. Now that Ive put you
there on a hilltop, on a light stand-shine!
