Executive Summary
The name of our proposed amusement park will be 71 Amusement Park. It
will be located in the area of Bhaluka, a thana of Mymensingh district. The
basic function of this amusement park will be entertaining both the kids and
the adult persons by offering some ride items. But, there will also be some
extra offerings such as a library (consisting various types of books, journals
and daily newspapers), adult education centre (providing basic education)
and consulting center regarding health and nutrition. Our main focus of this
amusement park will be to provide scope of employment for the disable
persons of the society such as missing arms or legs and blinds so that they
can live their livelihood rather than being a burden to the society. But, the
vital matter will be that, the 70% of these employees will be women.

Our initial budget will be approximately 30 lacs. There will be a venture

between 71 Amusement Park and Davidson Entertainment Ltd (a
entertainment provider of Norway). 71 Amusement Park will provide the
land in Bhaluka at lower cost and the Davidson Entertainment Ltd which
will provide the technical ride items at very lower cost to us in order to
launch the business. We will collect budget of 15 lacs from the social
business fund of Yunus Centre and the other 15 lacs will be collected from
the owner of 71 Amusement Park (they will actually provide us 2.5 acres
area which has monetary value of 15 lacs). And this business will be
regulated as a social business, because after the break-even period (5 years)
we will pay back the initial capital to the investors and the further profit will
be utilized to run this business in broader way.

Types of Social Business

What is the type of our social business?

We know there are two type of social business; type1 and type 2. Type1
concentrates on businesses which deal with social objective only. Social
welfare is the main principle of this business. The product produced is for the

Jagannath University 71 Amusement Park

benefit of the poor or targeted to solve a specific social problem. On the
other hand, when a company conducts business for maximizing profit but
with the owner of poor or general people, it will regard as type2. So,
considering this fact, we can say that 71 Amusement Park is type1 social
business. We will introduce our park with an objective of social welfare like
social entertainment, empowerment of disabled people, child education,
health consultancy etc. So, type 1 definitely matches with the
characteristics of our business.

Corporate partner:

As 71 Amusement Park is totally a new concept in social business area, we

need huge amount of capital and technical infrastructure; it is quite difficult
to start our business by ourselves. So, we decided to propose Davidson
Entertainment Ltd. which is a famous entertainment company of Norway to
participate with our social business concept. We and Davidson Entertainment
Ltd. can enter into an agreement that they will provide us electronic ride
items and supportive infrastructure facilities at very lower price than the
actual price to develop our social business considering the intention of social
welfare.

Source of initial funding:

Starting a business certainly needs a capital. For the proposed 71

Amusement Park project we have developed a distinct capital raising plan as
well. So, we will target 2 major sources of fund like-

1. Self Investment: First, We will try to raise our primary capital of 15

lacs from self investment of entrepreneurs. May be its not enough but
will try to give best effort manage our capital by ourselves. There will
be 5 entrepreneurs named Mr. Abdul Karim, Mrs. Bilkis Ara, Mr.
Chandan Das, Mr. David Gomez and Mr. Ekhlas Mia. All of them will
invest 3 lacs each. The will actually provide an area of 2.5 acres in
Bhaluka, Mymensingh which has monetary value of 15 lacs. They will
provide the land at lower price than the actual market price
considering the fact of social welfare.

Jagannath University 71 Amusement Park

2. Yunus Centre: We know, social business fund of Yunus Centre is
available in order to spread the concept of social business practically.
We will submit our proposed plan and elaborate it to the social
business fund authority of Yunus Centre to make understand them the
value and necessity of 71 Amusement Park. Then we will collect capital
of 15 lacs from them.

Investors of our initial capital:

As our business project needs huge amount of capital, we will collect initial
capital of 30 lacs from two distinct sources. So, we decide to propose some
other potential investors to invest in our social business like-

1. Individual Investment:

We will try to gather initial capital of 15 lacs from five philanthropic

persons of Bhaluka, Mymensingh named Mr. Abdul Karim, Mrs. Bilkis
Ara, Mr. Chandan Das, Mr. David Gomez and Mr. Ekhlas Mia. They will
all contribute 3 lacs each (collectively 15 lacs).

It should be noted that this capital of 15 lacs will be given back after
the break-even period of 4th year from the very beginning of the
business.

2. Social Business Fund:

We can also generate our fund from Yunus Centre. We can show our
proposed business plant and the positive effect of implementing this
plant in society and ask for their financial help to develop a fund for it.
Then we will collect and amount of 15 lacs from them.

It should be noted that this capital of 15 lacs will be given back after the
break-even period of 4th year from the very beginning of the business.

* Comparative lower working
abilities of employees.

Contingency Plan:

* If we do become unable to manage our suitable land in Bhaluka,

Mymensingh; then we will move to another nearby suitable place,

* If there is any unwillingness of the investors to invest; then we will

apply for open donation, loans, private investors or corporate
investors,

* If we do become unable to find out the employees according to our

plan; then we will try to manage part time or temporary employees
from other sources,

* If we do become unable to gather our required electronic ride item

7 Principles of Social Business

Jagannath University 71 Amusement Park

There are seven principles of Social Business. Lets see how 71 Amusement
Park matches all of them-

Business objective will be to overcome poverty, or one or more

problems (such as education, health, technology access, and
environment) which threaten people and society; not profit
maximization.

Our Amusement Park is creating source of employment for physically

disabled people. By that, their families are also being financially
helped;

Financial and economic sustainability.

As we are helping physically disabled people as well as their families,

financial and economic contribution are increasing in the society,

Investors get back their investment amount only. No dividend

is given beyond investment money.

We are giving 30 lacs back to the investors after break-even period (4

Years),

When investment amount is paid back, company profit stays

with the company for expansion and improvement.

After giving back the investment to the investors, the further collection
will be used for the betterment of 71 Amusement Park,

Environmentally conscious.

There are no any environmental harmful components in our

amusement park because it is totally environmental friendly,
Workforce gets market wage with better working conditions.

We are giving competitive salaries to the employees, which will be

increased day by day,

do it with joy.

Jagannath University 71 Amusement Park

We will run 71 Amusement Park with highest level of enthusiasm.
Long Term Business Strategy
We have some specific long term strategies. After 20 years, we will manage
to gather high range of profit margin. We will try to make such type of
amusement parks in almost 350 thanas. Besides that, we will have a mission
to make employment opportunity for at least 15,000 physically disabled
people. We may create accommodation for them from the profit of 71
Amusement Park considering the social and humanity matter. If we do
success in such mission, then we may also create ideas for starting other
social business specially concentrated for physically disabled people as well
as poor women.
