ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

1) Librarian -[ 1 Post UR ]

Essential Qualification & Experience

A Masters degree in Library Science/Information

Science/Documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent
grade for 55% where grading system is practised.
A PhD degree in the above discipline and /or allied discipline with a
consistently good academic record.
At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or
eighteen years experience as a College Librarian.
Evidence of innovative library science and organization of published
work.
A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator
(API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) developed by
UGC in these Regulations.

Desirable: An M.Phil / Ph.D Degree in Library Science/ Informative Science/ Documentation/

Archives and Manuscript keeping.

All hardcopy of the details related to Academic Performance Indicator (API) may be sent by
post to the Registrar, Sikkim University, 6th Mile, Samdur, Tadong, Gangtok, East Sikkim
737102 for verification of the submitted scores.

2) Deputy Librarian -[ 1 Post SC ]

Essential Qualification & Experience

A Masters degree in library science/information

science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent
grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good
academic record.
Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College
Librarian.
Evidence of innovative library services, published work, professional
commitment and computerization of library.
A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator
(API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) developed by
UGC in these Regulations.

Desirable: An M.Phil/Ph.D Degree in Library Science/ Information Sciences/

Documentation/Archives and Manuscript Keeping / Computerization of Library.

3) Internal Audit Officer [ 1 Post UR]

To be filled up by officers belonging to Audit & Accounts Service or other similar services on
deputation or contract.

Essential Qualification & Experience

Officers from Audit and Account service holding the post on regular basis
with 3(three) years experience in PB-3( 15600-39100) with GP 6600
or
Officers having 8 (eight) years experience in PB-3 (15600- 39100) with GP
5400/-

4) Executive Engineer [ 1 Post- SC]

Essential Qualifications & Experiences:

Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.

15 years experience as an Assistant Engineer in CPWD/PWD/Public Sector
Undertaking/ autonomous bodies.
Preference will be given to candidates having experience of atleast 5 years
as Assistant Executive Engineer in CPWD/PWD/ Public Sector
Undertakings/ autonomous bodies.

5) Assistant Librarian- 2Posts-[1-UR, 1-OBC]

Essential Qualifications:

A Masters degree in library science/ Information Science/

documentation science or an equivalent professional degree with at least
55% marks or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system
is followed and consistently good academic record with knowledge of
computerization of library.
Qualified the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or
any other agency approved by the UGC.

6) Information Scientist- [ 1 Post - OBC ]

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

B.E./B.Tech (CSE/IT) from recognized University/Institution.

Or
Master degree in computer application with at least 1 (one)
year experience in System Administration form recognized University/
Institution.
Or
Master degree in library & information Sciences and Post Graduate
diploma in computer application from recognized University/
Institution.
Or
Bachelor degree in library & information science with three years
experience in the field and PG Diploma in Computer application from
recognized University/ Institution.
7) Public Relation Officer: [1 Post-OBC]

Essential Qualification & Experience

A post-graduate degree from a recognized University with atleast 55%

marks or its equivalent grade, preferable in Journalism.
2 years experience of public relations preferably in a University or an
Institution of higher learning.
Should be able to liaise with press and electronic media.
Should be able to prepare publicity material and prepare press
releases/notes.

8) Private Secretary- 1 Post- [1-SC] (Written Test, Skill Test & Interview)

Essential Qualification & Experience:

Graduate from a recognized University

At least three years of regular service as Personal Assistant in
a Govt./ semi-Govt. or an autonomous organization.
Proficiency in Shorthand and typing with speed of 110 wpm in
shorthand and 50 wpm in typing in English or 40 wpm in typing in
Hindi on computer
Working knowledge of computers

9) Assistant 2 Posts [1-SC, 1-OBC] (Written test & Interview)

Essential Qualification & Experience:

Graduate from a recognized University

Atleast5(five) years experience of administrative/ accounts/Examinations
related/ experience in Govt./ Semi Govt. or an autonomous organization
Working knowledge of computers.

10) Personal Assistant- 2 Posts [1 SC, 1 OBC] (Written Test, Skill Test & Interview)

Essential Qualification:

Graduate from a recognized University.

Proficiency in Shorthand and typing with speed of 100 wpm in
shorthand and 50 wpm in typing in English or 40 wpm in typing in
Hindi on computer
Working knowledge of computers

Essential Qualification:

M.Lib.Sc
or
B. Lib.Sc with 4 years of experience in Library management
in a University
12) Senior Technical Assistant- 2 Posts [2 -OBC] (Written Test & Interview)

Essential Qualification & Experience:

MCA or MSc in Computer Science/IT from a recognized

University/Institution with atleast 2 years of post qualification experience
in software development or ERP
13) Semi Professional Assistant- [1 UR] (Written Test, Skill Test & Interview)

Essential Qualification:

B.Lib. Sc
or
Bachelors degree in any discipline with Diploma in Library Science

14) Security Supervisor- [1 Post-UR]

Essential Qualification & Experience:

10+2 or equivalent degree from a recognized Board/University

NCC Certificate
Should be conversant with security rules and procedures and should be
able to liaise with police
An ex-service man who was holding position of Junior commissioned
officer before retirement.

15) Security Inspector- [1 Post-OBC]

Essential Qualification & Experience

10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board/University

NCC Certificate
Should be conversant with security rules and procedures and should be

16) Technical Assistant- 7 Posts [ 2-UR, 2-SC, 3-OBC]

Essential qualification & Experience:

A graduate with Computer Application / IT as major

Two years experience of handling major equipments in computer
laboratory (1)
or
Two year experience of providing technical service to library automation
softwares (1), examination softwares (2), financial management softwares
(1) or such equipment & softwares as used in smart classrooms, e-
governance, ERP, virtual class rooms etc. (2)
17) Pharmacist- [1 Post-SC]

Essential Qualification:

10+2 from a recognized Board/ University

Diploma in Pharmacy as recognized by Pharmacy Council of India

18) Laboratory Assistant- 8 Posts [ 5-UR, 1-SC,1-ST,1-OBC]

Essential Qualification:

Graduate preferably in Horticulture/ Zoology/ Chemistry/ Physics/

Geology/ Anthropology/ Geography/ Psychology with certificate/diploma in
Laboratory management/Instrumentation.
or
Graduate preferably in Horticulture/ Zoology/ Chemistry/ Physics/
Geology/ Anthropology/ Geography/ Psychology with atleast 3 years
experience as Laboratory Attendant in a University/educational institution.

19) Library Assistant- 2 Posts [1-UR,1-OBC]

Essential Qualification & Experience:

A Graduate in any discipline with some experience in library work in

educational Institution, preferably holding a certificate in Library Science
and having experience of working in a University Library

20) UDC- 4 Posts [4-UR] (Written Test & Interview)

Essential Qualification& Experience:

Graduate from a recognized University.

Atleast 5 (five) years of experience in the grade of LDC or equivalent on
regular/ contract basis in a Govt./ Semi-Govt./ Semi-Govt or autonomous
body.
Working knowledge of Computers

21) LDC- 10 Posts [ 4- UR, 2-SC, 4-OBC] (Written Test, Skill Test & Interview)

Essential Qualification:

10 + 2 or equivalent from a recognized Board/University

Knowledge of Computers and data entry
Typing speed of 40 words per minute

22) Driver- 2 Posts [ 1-UR, 1-OBC]

Essential Qualification & Experience:

10th from a recognized Board

Valid license holder of heavy/medium motor vehicles
 At least 3 years experience in driving a light/heavy/ medium vehicle with
knowledge of car mechanism

23) Cook- 1 Post [1-UR]

Essential Qualification:

8th class pass

Sufficient knowledge & experience of cooking various types of food.

24) MTS- 6 Posts [3-UR, 1-ST, 2-OBC]

Essential Qualification:

10th class pass from a recognized Board

25) Library Attendant- 2 Posts [ 1-SC, 1-OBC]

Essential Qualification & Experience:

10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board /University with some

experience in Library Work in an educational Institution preferably
holding a Certificate in Library Science.

26) Laboratory Attendant- 2 Posts [ 1-UR, 1SC]

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board/University with some

experience of working in a laboratory (preferably Microbiology /
Zoology) in an educational institution, preferably holding a certificate in
Laboratory management/instrumentation.

27) Kitchen Attendant- 1 Post [ 1-UR]

Essential Qualification:

8th Class Pass

Must be able to assist cook in doing his job and cleaning utensils and
maintaining kitchen.

GENERAL NOTE:

1) The University reserves the right to:

(a) Draw reserve panel(s) against the possible vacancies in the future.

(c) Relax any of the qualifications/experience at its discretion; and

 (d) Not-to fill up any or all the advertised posts on regular basis.

2) Persons already in service should produce NOC from their departments at the time of
interview.

3) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

4) Interested candidates may apply online through the University website www.cus.ac.in
on or before 30.04.2015. The application will be charged with a processing fee of
Rs. 300/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/OBC/DA) through online payment only.

5) The emoluments, allowances, facilities & other benefits of the selected officers/officials
will be in accordance with the instructions issued by Central Government/UGC from
time to time.

6) The last date for receiving the online application is 30.04.2015.

7) In cases where hard copies of the details have been asked for must be dispatched to the
University within the time of submission failing which the application may be rejected.
