SurePay provides real-time rating and charging capabilities for any network
technology and service type. With SurePay service providers can offer superior
postpaid, prepaid, and hybrid services for consumers and enterprises. It
enables the introduction of new business models and the evolution to digital
service providers.

Requirements for rating and charging systems

have changed significantly over the last few years
and continue to evolve. The most recent Nokia
Acquisition and Retention study shows that the #1
reason why subscribers leave a service provider is the
lack of suitable service offers. The ability to quickly
react to competitive threats and efforts to become
more customer-centric depends directly on the Nokia SurePay
capabilities of the charging system. The emergence
of the Internet of Things (IoT) brings a new
ecosystem of stakeholders and increased complexity
from a charging perpective. Moreover, the demand
to monetize forces service providers to work with
over-the-top application vendors and new partners.
Finally, the need to virtualize the charging function
requires a whole new level of flexibility in order to

Availability and scalability RADIUS
SOAP
Availability is provided through local or geographic
redundancy. Load balancing distributes data SIP (VoIP)
transactions across multiple deployed servers, and SMPP
overload controls handle significant traffic peaks.
BSS integration
Scalability allows networks to grow while minimizing
the impact to end-user applications. Revenue FTP/SFTP
interruption is prevented by enabling the scalable SOAP/Web services
deployment of an online charging system in
XML
multiple nodes.

SurePay is an integral part of the Nokia BSS TCP/IP
portfolio that offers policy management, customer Signaling
engagement and billing mediation capabilities.
SurePay has also been integrated with many SS7
