The major limitations and setbacks experienced during my SIWES include the following:

i. Not Being paid

I wasnt paid during my IT so as a result, I will always say why work my ass out when am getting
nothing even after working for half a year

SOLUTION: always put in mind that youre not there for payment and focus more and the
experience am to gain during the training.

ii. Afraid to Ask Questions:

In the industrial I worked asking questions felt like we were going to make them loose concentration
and which could be fatal for both the workers and we the interns, because we were dealing with
mostly on web design & management, and because of this I lost a considerable amount of
knowledge.

SOLUTION: During this proposed excursion I intend to take down necessary questions, points and
notes. Thereafter I would ask my questions in other not to distract the worker and also to gain
maximally from the excursion.

iii. Not Enough Direction:

Sometimes when given assignments to do by my supervisor, the assignment was totally unclear. Not
wanting to annoy or get in anyones way I just made assumptions and did whatever I felt was right
and most times it came back to haunt me cause I had to redo the work all over again.

SOLUTION: Never make assumptions and dont be afraid to ask questions in other to be clear about
a particular task or assignment.

iv. Non engagement in jobs:

There were some jobs would have been beneficial to me but I was not allowed to be involved in
sometimes due to the cost of the testing equipment.

SOLUTION: I intend to be more involved and also insist on using equipments.

v. Poor Communication:

Most of the technicians were unable to explain the job, due to poor theoretical knowledge.

SOLUTION: My lecturers would be present during the proposed excursion, so I intend to be patient
with the technicians and ask my lectures for help in areas which the technicians are not sound.

Distance to work place:

Transporting myself from my house to work place cost me a lot, since am not being paid I tend not to
go to work sometimes in order to save my money.

SOLUTION: I intend to be professional at all times, which will include going to work on time and at
all times no matter the distance.
