5.Aftertermination,thepositionofalaidoffemployeeremainsvacant,
whereasthefiredemployeeisimmediatelyreplacedwithanewone.

6.Whentheemployeeislaidoff,he/shecaneasilyfindanewjob,asthe
reasonforlaidoffisbeyondanybodyscontrol.However,whenan
employeeisfired,itishardtofindanewjob,becausehewas
terminatedfromthejobbecauseofhisperformanceorbehaviour,
whichadverselyaffectshis/herresume.

7.Thesituationofbeinglaidoffislesssevere,ascomparedtobeing
fired.
