The steel framing is parametric with the girders they frame in to, so if the girders move, the framing will move as well. Using this component saves time in updating the steel framing around floor penetrations as those elements change throughout the project. The floor opening width is entered as numeric value. The floor opening height is defined by picking 2 points in the model. Parts created + 4 steel beams + Rectangular opening in slab Assumptions: A floor slab/contour plate and 2 steel girders are in place. A reference model of the opening or penetration is visible (optional). Picking order for placing opening with framing (slab span in global X direction): Pick concrete slab Pick lower girder (primary beam) Pick upper girder (secondary beam), select middle mouse button Pick 1st point at lower left comer of opening” Pick 2nd point at upper left corner of opening* Picking order for placing opening with framing (slab span in global Y direction): Pick concrete slab Pick left girder (primary beam) Pick right girder (secondary beam), select middle mouse button Pick ‘st point at upper left comer of opening’ .
