Dear  Local  Business,

SEEDS  (Sustainable  Energy  Education  and  Development  Support),  a  community  based  non-‐
profit  organization  in  NEPA,  in  association  with  Workforce  Wayne  and  PPL  Electric
Utilities,  is  pleased  to  announce  their  new,  2010  summer  pilot  program  Wayne
Businesses  Conserve!  The  goals  of  the  program  are:

• To  recognize  Wayne  County  businesses  as  they  strive  to  conserve  energy.
• To  demonstrate  and  share  simple,  affordable  and  economically  sound  energy  conservation
techniques.
• To  support  energy  conservation  and  renewable  energy  development  among  NEPA
businesses.
• To  raise  awareness  of  the  many  benefits  a  sustainable  energy  future  will  provide  to
our  local  economy  and  community.

This  summer,  ten  businesses  have  volunteered  to  participate  in  WBC.  Learning  from  the
successes  and  limitations  of  this  pilot,  we  hope  to  establish  a  permanent  program  in  the
fall,  open  to  all  Wayne  County  businesses.

Beyond  the  support  of  local  renewable  energy  development,  SEEDS  is  dedicated  to
promoting  general  sustainable  living  in  NEPA.  As  such,  we  want  to  actively  support  our
community’s  buy  local  campaign.

We  believe  your  business  carries  products  and/or  offers  services  that  our
participants  might  be  interested  in  purchasing.  Included  with  this  letter  is  an
“application”  that  outlines  the  requirements  of  the  program  and  the  services  businesses
may  need.  We  would  like  to  assess  what  products  or  services  you  can  offer  and,  with  your
permission,  list  you  on  our  developing  website  as  a  local  partner.

If  you  are  interested,  please  fill  out  the  enclosed  form.  You  can  mail  it  to:  Danielle  Hoffman,
1379  Bridge  St.  Honesdale,  PA  18431,  or  call  (570)  352  2488  and  I  can  come  pick  it  up.

I  look  forward  to  hearing  from  you!  Please  feel  free  to  contact  me  with  any  questions.
Thanks  you  for  your  time,

Danielle  Hoffman
