HEAVY LIFT VESSEL DEMAND - forward-looking
PETROBRAS Decommissioning program for platform
and subsea equipment

From 1970 to 2000, only 7 fixed platforms

were decommissioned

Average age of fixed platforms: > 25

years

Most of them with life cycle expired

Hundreds of subsea equipment to be

decommissioned

Petrobras funded a study of

subsea decommissioning practices

High pressure from environmental

authorities

Decom designs should start next year
