Hello! Im Cai Pearson


Im a young sociable, motivated, confident creative from South
Wales, I attained a first class honours in BA (Hons) Design for
Advertising which cemented my passion for design, winning a
D&AD New Blood award while at the national New Blood
showcase in London given to the top 10 designers at the exhibition.

Throughout my degree I have worked on a range of briefs


including branding, print advertisements, motion graphics,
digital banners, events, web design, user interface design and
magazine design. During these briefs I improved upon my team
work and communication skills in group assignments, whilst
developing my organisation skills and self motivation by
working on self innovated projects.

By working on a range of projects this has helped me to gain a


deeper understanding of each aspect that is needed for graphic
design. This has given me the skills needed to work in this
environment including having an in-depth knowledge in areas
such as branding, typography, layout adjustment, motion
graphics and digital design. Taking my skills further and having
done a vast amount of training in software such as the Adobe
Creative Suite Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Flash
and Premier Pro, Microsoft Office Word, Excel,
Powerpoint, Visio, Project and other programmes such as Prezi,
keynote, Google Sketch Up and currently learning HTML and
Wordpress practises, I have improved the quality of my work and
my software skills.

Flo / A D&AD concept to help improve creativity within the creative industries. /
My concept was a programme that helps creative people present and become more
confident conveying their ideas to others. The programme will allow the
individual to monitor and improve their presentation skills. I developed a
portable device, packaging design, all visual artwork and computer programme.

Flos packaging design concept, example on a Mac and the portable devise designed
to help you think a presentation
European Union Erasmus plus Eco Systems App / Creating all of the artwork and
developing the new EU projects visual identity / The logo represents transnational relations and
how everyone works together to reach their true potential. The colour scheme represents diversity
throughout the continent, the abstract design shows the different paths a person takes. The name
of the brand is in the typeface Nordica Hairline, which is a type that is slim to blend in with the logo
creating a clean and elegant logo.

Grindr Awareness Advertisement / Create a print campaign to help raise awareness for
Grindrs views on equality and equity for the gay community working towards stamping out
bullying within the 21st Century. / Research identified the fact 40% of young LGBT
community have self-harmed, a horrifying fact that resulted in my final artwork using
derogatory words cut into skin to show a harmful word will always live in a persons mind.

Eurovision Song Contest 2016 Artwork / Creative all visuals artwork for the 2016

Eurovision Song Contest / As an avid Eurovision enthusiast I wanted to show the contest is
May 10 May 12 May 14 more than a flamboyance affair, with Sweden hosting I decided to create my visual identity
around technology representing Swedens world leading technology industry. Following the
guidelines set by the European Broadcasting Union, I created the theme, slogan, logo, stage
and on screen graphics.
Corporate Brochure Design for Local Business / Creating a brochure as part of a
team of 4 for a local business to show what they do / using infographics bold and pastel
colours and attractive mock up displays to make the brochure reflecting the local
manufacturing business performance to compete with competitors in the South Wales.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service - National Water Safety Week Campaign / Create a Print
and Social Media advert to show the risks of open water swimming / The advert was based around young people
who risk their lives and not making it to major life events such as Prom or Graduation by swimming in open water.
The fact that 81% of young people statistically never grow up was the basis of the advert. The outfit he/she never
wore campaign aims to emotionally pull at the heartstrings of parents and guardians wanting to teach and warn their
offspring about open water swimming.
Propercorn Competition Brief / How can we creatively bring to life our ethos of
done properly to our customer? / The idea behind the print campaign is to show things
being done properly like exercising, dressing up for winter or proper romancing, There
would be a social media campaign using the hash-tag done properly where people can
post photos of them doing things properly / This was a teamwork project producing

ety of clients from S4C, Jasmine Thai, the graduate Exhibition Rum and Raspberry, as well as
personal branding and Projects experimenting with linear design for the wayfaring logo and
calligraphic typography and illustrative logo design from the chunky mermaid design.

modified. The main configuration interface was key to the operation and the focus of the
visuals overall. The brand is designed to be simple and to have an impact throughout with this
also following through with the advertising. The Ogle typeface is designed to represent spectacle
frames and the advertising campaign incorporating the silhouettes of the glasses as locations
customers have visited creating memories with the brand. / This project was completed as part
of a team of three.
