An exhilarating tale of a couple who are
forced into drug smuggling and eventually
caught only for the girl to find out that the
entire plan was a setup by the person she
loved the most.

Anna
Anna has blond disheveled hairs that are
mostly plastered across her wide forehead.
She has soft hazel eyes that enhance her
beauty. She walks so gracefully that it seems
as though she was gliding. Her dimple
sparkles through her rosy cheeks.
Anna is a very trendy, mature, and grown up
woman who loves to dance. She is an extrovert
woman who easily gets along with people and
spends time with them. On weekends she
usually goes to clubs to socialize and enjoy
her weekend. This comely woman when got a job
offer of a pole dancer, there was a slight
notion of happiness passing swiftly through
her as her dream to dance was on the verge of
coming true.
Anna was greatly frightened to carry the
drugs across the borders. She tried to show
placid expression but the calamitous
situation brought an unease on her face. The
anxiety that provoked her inner being had
completely tore her apart when she and her
boyfriend were caught while boarding the

drugs. The once joyful Anna was now a person
whose inner soul had completely collapsed.

John
John has a perfectly round face with a fair
complexion and black spiky hairs. His almond-
shaped eyes are center of attraction and
cheeks pitted with acne scars. His
belligerent behavior disturbs others peace
of mind. He plays cleverly with his
girlfriend who got trapped in his plans.
He hides his true desires and motives and has
played exceptionally well throughout the
script. The dodgy young man expertly deals
with the various scenarios and does not let
her girlfriend have an inch of doubt about
him. He is an emotionally stable person and
uses his emotions throughout the play to
betray his girlfriend.

TREATMENT:

The story revolves around a couple that
doesnt have much going on for them. The
girl, Ana, earns a living as a professional
pole dancer while her significant other,
John, appears to be jobless.
Act 1:
One typical night while Ana is enjoying and
having a good time around at work, she is
approached by a random person that makes her
an offer she has no choice but to contemplate
over. She is offered a trip abroad, a fully
paid trip to Jamaica, Caribbean. There she
will act as teacher to the newbies at a
recently opened club in the locality. The
idea of a paid for trip leaves her lost in
thoughts of how this is a vacation she
deserves and must by all means go to. It
happens so that John ends up accompanying
Ana. The men behind the offer made to Ana
meet with John. The meeting leaves John sold
on going along, the true reasons behind this
folds out later on.
Plot Twist of Act 1:
John agrees to the job offered to Ana, and
they both look forward to their seemingly
exciting trip to Jamaica
Act 2:
They land in Jamaica at around 8pm and are
left stood-up by the person responsible for
picking them and guiding them around. After
an hours wait they decide to take a cab to
the hotel they were informed about their
bookings of. Although they are now starting
to feel suspicious, their moods lighten as
the taxi pulls in front of a luxurious hotel.
At the reception they are denied any
existence of room reservations under either
of their names, however once they pay out of
their own pockets and are beginning to get
comfortable they hear a knock on the door and
open it to be greeted by their guide. He

apologizes making claims of having
miscalculated flight timings and informs the
couple of how the two will be shifted to
another hotel the following day.
As time passes Ana realizes that the club
shes here to offer training at does not
exist. By this time their hosts have made
plenty of excuses regarding delays and they
are now living in a hotel where they are the
only guests. There is only one way in and out
which is guarded by an armed man, the phones
lines dont work, and their luggage has been
taken after being threatened. Theyve also
been informed or reminded (in terms of the
way their captor communicates) how their only
mission will be to carry Cocaine back into
England once they are provided with the
loaded suitcases.
Plot Twist of Act 2:
Both Ana and John are fearful for their lives
and the fate they may suffer for doing this
heinous crime of drug smuggling, into which
they have been forced.
Act 3:
Despite being fearful of getting caught they
decide to accept the commands given to them.
The 8000 pound payment in return for
successful transportation adds to their
willingness. However while the two manage
passing through security checks at two
airports on the way back, their luck takes a
turn for worse and are caught at the third
and last airport. Cross questioning and
interrogation leads to the discovery that
John was responsible for setting up Ana and
had previously too been involved in
smuggling. The two are sentenced to prison
and even though Johns sentence is longer as
compared to Anas, he manages to get an early
release owing to his resourcefulness and
connections with people in places.

ACT I
Scene 1
FADE IN:
INTERIOR. NIGHT CLUB
NIGHT 1

Ana, a pole dancer is performing her usual


duties during her time-off when she is
approached by a stranger named Mark

MARK
Hey I am Mark.
(Extends his hand towards Ana)

ANA
(A bit confused)
Um Hi! Ana
(Shakes his hand)

MARK
I know you dont know me but I and my team
have been watching you dance here for quite a
few weeks and weve found you to be pretty
impressive.

ANA
Oh, thank you so much Mark.

MARK
So you know, your dance is impressive, so I
have a job offer for you and its a very good
one. Much better than your current job.

ANA
Ahan? Go ahead.

MARK
We need to teach some local girls pole
dancing at a club in Jamaica, in the
Caribbean. Its a pretty good job and with
double the money youre currently earning.

ANA
Well thank you Mark but you know I have a
boyfriend and I need to like ask him before I
can make such a decision?
(Pauses for a while)
(Excitedly)
Wait Ill just call him right now.

NARRATOR
Ana goes to the side and talks to her
boyfriend John on the phone about the
possible job opportunity.

ANA
Umm, I have a small issue. You might have to
come over to my place and convince my
boyfriend, you know kind of convince him
about this?

MARK
Yeah sure, I will come and meet your
boyfriend, John, right?
(Ana nods her head excitedly)
Dont worry Ill discuss it with him and make
everything clear.

ANA
Okay see you then.
(Grins to herself)

ACT 1
Scene 2
FADE IN:
INTERIOR. JOHN AND ANAS APARTMENT.
DAY 2

The next day Mark arrives at John and Anas


apartment. There is a knock on the door and
John responds.

MARK
Hi, my name is, Mark. People call me Mr.
Biggs.

JOHN
Hello, Im John. Come on in?
(They both move into the house and sit in the
lounge)

MARK
So John I know you are a little worried as
Jamaica, Caribbean sounds a little off shore
and kind of scary but dont worry, we have
everything under control.

JOHN
Hmm But...

MARK
(Interrupts)
Oh common dont worry, its going to be a
vacation for you guys as well. Plus the best
part is well pay all your expenses, your
ticket, visa, food, accommodation, hotel.
Basically everything you see.
(John looks at Ana)

ANA
Cmon it has been a long time since weve
been on a holiday, a proper vacation.

JOHN
Hmm okay. Well do it.

ANA
(Excited)
YES! Thank you, honey.

ACT 1
Scene 3
FADE IN:
EXTERIOR. OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT.
DAY 17

In the coming couple of weeks they get their


visa and tickets and depart for the
Caribbean. At the airport they expect someone
to be there to pick them up but unfortunately
no one arrives.

ANA
(Extremely tensed)
This is so frustrating? Why isnt anyone
here?

JOHN
(Rudely)
No idea. No wonder I never wanted to come to
this place.
(Ana looks at him hesitantly)

JOHN
We have this address that Mark gave us, lets
just take a cab and like get to this place.
Maybe theres someone who can help us there.

ANA
Yeah okay, as you say.
(They reach the hotel and proceed to the
reception).

RECEPTIONIST
Good Evening, How may I help you?
(Smiles at them sweetly)

JOHN

Is there any booking by the name John and
Ana?

RECEPTIONIST
Im sorry sir but there is no reservation by
this name.

JOHN
(Surprisingly)
You need to check again? Theres got to be a
mistake.

RECEPTIONIST
No sir I cant find any booking by this name.

ANA
(Angrily)
What the hell!

JOHN
All we can do now is pay for the booking and
then we can try and contact Mr. Mark
tomorrow.

ANA
Okay.

NARRATOR
Half an hour later, there is a knock on the
door and Ana approaches.

MICHAEL
Hi! I am Michael Im so sorry I should have
met you at the airport but unfortunately I
couldnt. Im really sorry about it.

ANA
(Angrily)

Yes you should have met us at the airport; we
waited there for you for almost an hour.

MICHAEL
Sorry its totally my fault I mixed up the
timings. Why dont you guys take some rest?
You can spend the night here and Ill see you
guys in the morning.

JOHN
Okay, that sounds good. See you tomorrow and
hopefully on TIME.
(Loudly)

ACT 1
Scene 4
FADE IN:
INTERIOR. ANA AND JOHNS HOTEL ROOM. DAY 18

There is a knock on the door early next morning; Ana & John see
Michael along with another guy.

Anna and JOHN


Hi!

MICHAEL
Hello guys, this is David hell be taking care of you while you
are here. Ill be around too but hell be the main guy if you
have any issues. Okay?

Anna & JOHN


Okay!
In the evening, while Ana and John relax at the pool, they see
David approaching them

DAVID
I need you to go back to your room.

JOHN
Theres nothing to do at the hotel room, were here just having
some drinks and relaxing.

DAVID
(Shows his gun)
I need you to go back and Im not going to ask you again.

JOHN
(Shocked and scared)
Alright, alright! Lets just go Anna.

NARRATOR
Later that night Michael and David appear at their room.
MICHAEL
I need to talk to you guys about the real thing you are here for.
Straight to business.

ANA
(Angrily)
What the hell is going on? Theres nothing to do here.

JOHN
Calm down Anna; lets hear what they have to say.

MICHAEL
I dont know what you have been told in England but youre here
to do a job.

JOHN
(Confused)
What do you mean?

MICHAEL
What do you think youre here for? Nobody pays for all the bloody
expenses of a pole dancer? Hah.

ANA
(Confused)
Im here to do a dancing job, thats what I was told.

ACT II
Scene 1
FADE IN:
INTERIOR: WE ARE IN JOHN AND ANAS HOTEL ROOM DAY 18

ANA
What is going on here? I am here to do a dancing job.

MICHAEL
There is no club, no dancing. You are here to take the drugs
back to England. Simple is that.
(Ana & John both look at each other surprised and in a state of
shock.)

ANA
D, dr, druu, drugs? What do you mean? What kind of drugs
(Takes a step back)

ANA
I am not doing it. There is no way we are doing it!

MICHAEL
(Shouts)
Shut up! Dont move dont try to leave the room or hotel because
at the end of the day you will have to pay. Why do you think you
are here? Of course there is a reason behind this

JOHN
(Stressfully)
What do you mean? What do we have to do?

MICHAEL
Listen, its not a big deal. Well hand you a suitcase with
shampoo bottles inside, you guys just have to carry them along on
your way back to England.
(Both Michael and David leave, the door shuts and Ana starts to
cry.)

JOHN
Dont worry we will try to find a way to get out of here. I will
go out and check if there is someone out there for help.
(Footsteps echoed)

JOHN
Oh God! There is nobody out there, no guests nothing.
(The dogs barks)
JOHN
I cant see anyone outside other than Michaels guards.

ANA
I think we should call the police.

(John picks up the phone)

JOHN
Phones are not working. We are in great trouble. We have to do
what they say, whether we like it or not.
ACT II
Scene 2
FADE IN
INTERIOR WE ARE IN JOHN AND ANAS HOTEL ROOM DAY 22

The next morning Michael marches inside John and Anas hotel room
and places two suitcases on the floor and shows them the shampoo
bottles.

MICHAEL
There is cocaine in each shampoo bottle and I have placed them
in both of the suitcases.
(Ana looks at John and goes all red)

MICHAEL
Everybody is paid out there so dont worry, you guys wont get
caught. The customs, the police, everyones paid. You will also
get paid for it. Just drop the drugs on the following address
when you reach England.
(Ana continues crying while John takes the address from Michael)

MICHAEL
We are leaving for airport now. Just get ready quickly.
(Ana and John packs their stuff)
(Arrives at the airport)
(Car stops)
(Door opens)

MICHAEL
I will be looking at you people. Just stay calm and go through
the checking area.

JOHN
They going through all the bags, look! We will get caught.

ANA
I am scared.
(Ana trembles with fear)
(Ana and John walk through the door)

JOHN
We made it. We are halfway, honey.
(Ana smiles)
(Airplane flies)
(Next Station arrives)
CUSTOM OFFICER
Come here, Sir. Show me your bags.
(Ana looks at John)

CUSTOM OFFICER
Kindly open up your bags, sir.
(John tries to find the key)
(Ana starts trembling)

CUSTOM OFFICER
(After checking)
Thank you Sir! You can go now.
(Ana and John hug each other in delight)

ANA
Lets go to the hotel now and have some rest till our next
flight.
ACT III
Scene 1
FADE IN
INTERIOR: WE ARE IN JOHN AND ANAS
HOTEL ROOM DAY 23

JOHN
Ah, Ana we have made it so far. I think we
should really go for the final kill now,
its just one last obstacle.

ANA
(Unconvincingly)
Umm, I dont know.
(Pause)
You sure about this, honey?

JOHN
Oh common Baby! If we dont deserve this 8
grand, who does? Think about it? Its 8
grand each you know? Huge huge money
honey.

ANA
Hmm, yeah. Okay.
(Nods her head)
Lets go for this, lets just do it!

JOHN
You know baby, this is just one last
airport to get through. Well just get
done with this, hand over the drugs in
England and spend the money. You know...

ANA
(Silently nods her head and smiles)
ACT III
Scene 2
FADE IN:
INTERIOR. WE ARE IN JOHN AND ANAS HOTEL
ROOM DAY 24

John is already up early, eagerly looking


forward to the trip. John and Ana have
successfully made it half way they only
have one more airport to clear after which
they are free to go.

JOHN
Hey, Ana? Common wake up! Its 9 already,
we need to get to the airport on time.
Cmon hurry up.

ANA
(A bit surprised)
Why are you in such a hurry? The airport
is just like 15 minutes away.

JOHN
(Shouts)
What do you mean hurry? Lets just fucking
get outa here. Lets
(Lowers his tone)
Lets just get over with this.

ANA
(Surprised and shocked)
Okay, Okay. As you say. Calm down. Just
take it easy.

JOHN
(Cleaning the sweat of his forehead)
Hmm,
(Little pause)
Im sorry. You know I am just too tired
and frustrated of all this. Just want to
get out of here as quickly as possible.

ANA
Yeah me too. Its okay. I totally
understand.

NARRATOR
30 minutes later they pack their luggage
and move to the airport.
ACT III
Scene 3
FADE IN:
INTERIOR. WE ARE AT THE AIRPORT DAY

John and Ana arrive at the airport anxiously waiting for their
bags to appear on the conveyer belt. Everyone gets their
luggage but their bags dont arrive.

JOHN
Its okay, dont worry. There might some sort of
miscommunication.

ANA
(Going all red and nervous)
Hmm, I hope so
(Suddenly there is a rush of guards appearing from all sides,
pointing guns towards both of them)

ANA
(In utter disbelief)
Oh God!

JOHN
What, what, what? Wait. Whats this all about?

GUARD 1
(Shouts)
Hands up! Cmon both of you. Hands up!

GUARD 2
Get on your knees. Lay down and puts behind your back. Common,
move it. Be quick.
(They follow the instructions of the guards.
The guards approach them and handcuff them.)
(A customs incharge approaches the scene.)

CUSTOMS INCHARGE
(Walking proudly)
Ha Ha Ha! You guys thought you could get away this? Bloody
drug smugglers? Hah. You
(A little pause)
Bring them to my investigation room. Bloody white assholes.

NARRATOR
All of them move to the investigation room where John and Ana
see their suitcases and exchange nervous fearful looks

JOHN
(Tries to act all innocent)
Sir, whats the issue? What just happened? Why are we being
treated like this?

GUARD 1
(Cunningly)
Ha-ha, you trying to fool the St. Lucia Customs? Hah

GUARD 2
(While opening their suitcases)
You white assholes! Well just wait a minute and well show you
what youve been up to
He tears apart the sides of the bag and starts taking out the
shampoo bottles one by one
Tears start to roll down Anas eyes

CUSTOMS INCHARGE
(While observing the shampoo bottles)
What are these, hah? So many of them

JOHN
(Clever on the eye)
Um, Shampoo? Isnt it? We got them from Trinidad, you know
they are famous there. These ones especially.

CUSTOMS INCHARGE
(Knives the side of the shampoo where the cocaine is hidden)
Ha-ha I like your attitude young boy.
(Rolls the shampoo upside down, as the cocaine starts to flow
down on the table)

CUSTOMS INCHARGE
(Loudly and angrily)
You see this? Your bloody skin like white powder? You trying
to smuggle this? HA HA HA, You both are going to HELL!

ANA
(Crying loudly)
No sir, please dont. Well tell you everything, well
cooperate with you.

JOHN
(Calmly)
Be careful with what you say and do to us,
(Little pause)
Especially with me! You know who I work for? Christine!
Christine Santner!
(Ana looks in a state of confusion and dismay.)

ANA
What? Who Chris...Christi whatever? Who the bloody hell is
she?
(The guards and the customs officer exchange looks with each
other)

GUARD 2
(Holds him by his neck)
Hmm. So? Who the bloody hell do you think you are? Nobody is
powerful than the law here.
(Shouts in his ear)
Get that!

ANA
(Still crying, shouts)
Who the Fuck is Christine? Can anyone tell me? ANYONE!

GUARD 1
(Annoyed)
Shut up Girl. Youll find that soon.

JOHN
(Grins)
You heard that right, you dogs! I am a special agent of
Christine Santner. So better be careful with how you treat
Me!

GUARD 2
(Slaps him across his face)
Shut up! Just bloody shut up! Well see to that!

CUSTOMS OFFICER
(Quietly gets up of his chair, staring John into his eyes)
Take them away, both of them. You both are going to prison?

(Both of them are taken to the prison van.)

ANA
(Trying to strangle her handcuff)
John! Tell me who Christine is?
(Weeping)
You set this all up? All this was a setup?
(Cries loudly)
How could you do this to me?
(John looks at her but doesnt reply.)

ANA
You cant do this to me? Tell me what is this all about? Tell
me? Anyone?
(Looks back towards the guards, hopelessly)

ACT III
Scene 4
FADE IN:
INTERIOR. WE ARE AT THE ST.LUCIA CENTRAL PRISON DAY 24

Within the next 20 minutes; they are taken of the Central St


Lucia prison. Ana and John look at each other, knowing this
will be the last time they see each other in a long long time,
if not the last.
NARRATOR
A few days later they receive their court sentences of being
imprisoned to 2.5 years each for drug smuggling.
A few days later in jail:

ANA
(Dull and gloomy)
(Asks one of her prison inmates)
Do you have any idea who Christine Santner is?

INMATE
Umm, yeah? Shes like, like everyone knows her you know? A lot
of people belonging to her are here too.

ANA
(Blank)
I have no idea who she is but you know how I was caught and
all. And I found out that my guy, the person I loved the most,
works for some lady Christine.

INMATE
Ah, so your one of those poor souls. I have been here for like
10 years now and Ive seen quiet of these cases.

ANA
What, what do you mean?

INMATE
Well, you know Christine Santner is the head of the drug
cartel you know. Theres this huge, huge drug empire she
controls and also shes really politically influential.

ANA
(Shocked)
But how does John, like he never even had in me in doubt about
any of this. How did, how did he end up working for her?
(Starts crying)
Oh God, this cant be true.
INMATE
I dont know, but you know here in the prison you hear all
sorts of stories and this story youre telling me isnt the
first case Ive heard of. We have had stories like these
before.
(Ana looks in utter shock and disbelief)

INMATE
Yeah, like we have heard that Christine has this gang of boys
and girls, well trained, who meet up with other boys and girls
in these European countries, and like bring them here.
(Pauses for a while)
Here in the Caribbean they are forced into like taking drugs
back to their countries.

ANA
(Crying loudly, almost as if she will drain out any moment)

INMATE
This is one easy way for Christine and her gang to earn money
without getting caught you know.

ANA
But like John caught too? So like Christine ends up with her
people too?

INMATE
No no no. You know like I told you she is highly influential
here. She gets her people out with her influence, the police,
the politicians, she has a lot by her side.

ANA
(Dismayed)
So like John, hed be out of all this before I am?
INMATE
Long before you,
(Gets up and hugs Ana)
Its okay, they can escape here but dont worry honey God is
watching.

ANA
(Weeping helplessly)
I wish he was...
(Quiet silence)

NARRATOR
In the coming few weeks, Ana hears from one of the guards that
John had been set free. Her already poor state of health had
turned into worst. She probably could not cope with the burden
of the tragedy that she had been forced into. A couple of days
later, the guards find Ana in her cell, not moving an inch,
not breathing an millimeter of oxygen. They find out an empty
bottle of tablets lying beside her with a paper note beneath
it. The poor soul had given up and committed suicide.
The note she wrote, read:
