Our system allows our clients to get their orders in the morning and pay in
the afternoon. We release all our products based on trust and honesty.
I make sure that the numbers I put on our released slips are the same
number of empanadas in the containers. There were occasions when miscounting
happens, I tell my workers to recount. Packing and counting is a tedious job but we
always make sure that our clients get the exact number of empanadas they have
ordered. 99% of our clients do not count their empanadas, they based it only on the
released slips they received from us. The released slip shows the total number of
their orders and the total payment they need to remit in the afternoon. I am proud
to say that the system we created is accurate. I can calculate the exact production
the next day and thus reduce overproduction. If the packer has this doubt on the
counting he or she has done, we add an extra empanada and make a note to our
clients to do a recount.
I have also experienced receiving products I did not pay for from my
suppliers. I immediately notify them of the error made and I offer to pay what is due
to them. Some of them were surprised, they told me that they probably wouldnt
notice it anyway. They are grateful that I did not take advantage of the situation.
These incidents created relationships of trust from both our sides. Many times they
offer to lend some supplies because they know that I can pay them on the day I
promise to give the payment.
My suppliers have turned to be my product promoters or advertisers. Because
they have learned to trust me, they share my business to others.
