Raw material for the processes are imported from West Bengal, Bangladesh, Bihar, Assam.
The Finished products are exported to Tamil Nadu
Processes followed in the industry are as follow:
Drawing- Drawing is a process for reducing sliver width and thickness by simultaneously
mixing 4 to 6 sliver together. There are three types of Drawing Frame machine. In
most mills 3 Drawing passages are used in Hessian and 2 Drawing passages are used in
Sacking.
Winding-Winding is the process of transferring yarn or thread from one type of package to
another to facilitate subsequent processing

Beaming- Beaming process is follows after spool winding. In Beaming operation yarn from
spool is wounded over a beam of proper width and correct number of ends to weave jute
cloth. To increase the quality of woven cloth and weaving efficiency, the wrap yarns are
coated with starch paste. Adequate moisture is essential in this process
Weaving- Weaving is a process of interlacement of two series of threads called "wrap" and
"weft" yarns to produce the fabric of desired quality. There are separate looms for hessian
and sacking in weaving section
Camping
Dumping is the process in which the rolled woven cloth is unrolled and water is sprinkled on
it continuously to provide desired moisture. Each roll is generally 104 yards or 95.98 meters.
Damping is done manually

Calendering

Calendering is the process similar to ironing of fabric. After damping the damped fabric passes through
pairs of rollers rendering threads in fabric flattened and improve the quality and performance

Lapping is the process in which Hessian fabrics are folded into the required size used in
"Bale press" operation on the lapping machine.

Cutting is the process where the sacking cloth is cut to the required length for making bags for different size s
A-Twill bags and B-twill bags of 100 kg capacity.

Hemming In Hemming process, the raw edges of sacking cloth cut pieces are shown by
folding it with sewing machine.

Herackele In Herackele sewing the sides of sacking cloth cut pieces are shown to make a
complete bag

Bailing

Bags or Bale processing cloths are pressed compactly according to buyers need.

The industry is spread over 125 acres of land .40 tonnes of Jute is produced per day. The
company provides health insurance to all the workers. The workers are working in three shifts
A,B,C; A shift workers follow 6AM to 10AM .B shift workers follow 10AM to 2PM;C shift
workers follow 2PM to 6PM .The exports are within India. There are1210 workers in
total.The plant contains 100 machines. Each bag contains 386 threads and each bag is with
250 kgs capacity. There is no pollution problem. Finished product is stored in warehouses
which has 100 tones capacity. Initial investment for setting up the industry was 35 crores.
Employees are part of these Unions C.I.T.U and I.F.U
In establishing jute bag making unit you will need to install industrial sewing machine.
According to the required stitching pattern and production output, you have to select the right
machinery for your business. Different quality of side sealing machine, lock stitch
machines, woven sack bag cutting machines you might find effective for jute bag making
unit.

Jute bag manufacturing process is simple. After procuring the raw materials proper designs
and patterns need to be made. As per drawing, design and size cutting is done to make bags.
After cutting, the clothes are placed on the table and printing is done. Then cut pieces are
stitched in the sewing machine. During the process of making the bags, other consumable
such as lining, buckles, chains, runner, handles of clothes, bamboo and canes are fitted.
After completion of total works the bags are packed and dispatched to market for sale.
The finished products are exported to Tamil Nadu.
M/s Lakshmi Tiles Factory
The factory is located near Kothavalasa. It was established in the year 1992 The processes to
be followed
1. Clay is collected from nearby ponds during summer and it is stored for the total year
2. Clay is mixed with ash and it converts from sulphate to sulphite and it is also called
spirit which is stored for atleast seven days. The ash which they use for mixing the
clay is Bran which is the outer layer of the wheat
3. Then the spirit clay is sent through the belt conveyer to the pulveriser
4. In the pulveriser, the air gaps in the clay cake is removed
5. To lose its sticky nature kerosene is applied thoroughly
6. Then it is sent to the pentagon die pressing machine as the ingredients are slightly wet
they are forced through nozzle which forms the tiles shape
7. Then the wet tile is ready, here before it sending
8. but it should be stored in the warehouse and finally in hot sun for one hour to remove
the moisture
9. Then the clay tile is sent to kiln to remove the temper in the tile. In this process the
tempering is done to improve the hardness also
10. Then it is ready to sale
11. Once the tile is ready, it will be going for quality testing and it is ready for sale.
12. There are different types of tiles which are manufactured in this factory. They are:
13. Floor Tiles, Clay roof tiles, Cement tiles, Roof tiles and designer tiles depends on the
requirement of the customer.
14. Majorly they deliver the tiles to Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and
various places in Orissa.

There are in total of five companies in Brandix. It follows Fibre to store concept. Finished
goods are exported to USA.
Seeds Intimate Apparel India Private Limited is one of the Joint venture companies among
the five partners Brandot which is the Financial Partner, MAST which is the Source of limited
partners, Clover which is for both technical support and raw material, Brandix is the
operating partner, Philippines Technical staff. brands are there in the company.
Lasenza(5%),Victoria secret(70%),Pink(25%) are manufactured. There are 3000 employees
in total.33 sewing operations are to be performed for manufacturing each garment. Their
vision is to be the best bra manufacturers in the world. The companys strategy is to offer the
competitive advantage of flawless execution and cost efficiency, If there more than 3%
Absenteeism it effects production and they are maintain at 2.67%. There is Health care centre
with six beds in case of sickness to the employees. Safety precautions with wearing Aprons ,
masks are strictly followed. They provide training to the recruited employees to understand
about the company and the processes carried out

For cutting the cloth they use Cad system equipment which a Production engineer operates
under the supervision of Production supervisor and Technical supervisor. It takes minimum of
10 to 15 mins to finish one garment. They follow traffic light system in which green indicates
that the processes are going on smoothly without any obstacles, yellow indicates that there is
some help required at that point ,this helps the supervisors to view which worker needs help
and which step, red indicates that there is a disturbance in the step followed if unattended
may stop the production .The supervisor in this case needs to respond as soon as possible so
as to guide them and continue with the production.
There is some eligibility criteria for the workers as follows:
1. Sweat test
2. Weight of the worker should be atleast 40 kgs
3. Basic Stitching test is conducted

Only ladies are allowed for sewing jobs. Brandix is having a joyful environment where for
the relaxation of the employees they play music while they work.
