Literary analysis- 5 paragraph essay

Life lessons are the guide book to life but do all of them really help? The movie

Hunt for the wilder people is about a troubled foster child named Ricky who gets

adopted by a couple living in the New Zealand bush, after the wife bella dies Ricky and

Hec Bella's husband go on a long trip through the New Zealand bush. In the movie Hunt

People, there are three life lessons that junior high students should
For The Wilder

understand such as, change isn't always bad, always listen to both sides of a story, and

it's always a good idea to help others. These life lessons are important so students

know or can figure out right from wrong.

One of the lessons junior high students should understand is that change isn't

always bad. Since Ricky had to move out of the city life to the bush, where it's more of a

rural area, he had a change of scenery which at first he didn't like. Bella his adoptive

mom made it easier for him to adjust. Ricky never really had a good home so when

Bella was nicer to him it helped him get used to this new life style. Also when Bella got

Ricky a dog for his birthday, he felt like he had a new friend. Ricky only had one other

friend back in the city so when he got Tupac (what Ricky named his dog), he was very

happy and he liked this change. This shows change isn't always bad because at first

Ricky had a not so good life in a more familiar place then he left and he got a better

home in a new place he wasn't so familiar with. Change isn't always bad is only one of

the lessons that junior high students should understand also is a lesson on listening.
An equally important lesson junior high school students should understand

is that, it's important to listen to both sides of a story. An example of this in the film is

when, Ricky and Hector ran off together after Bella died and people thought Hec

kidnapped Ricky. This situation relates to the lesson because, if people would have

listened to Hecs side of the story then everything would fall in place easier. Another

situation is at the end when the police caught Hec and Ricky. They put Hec in a jail and

retirement home and they didn't really take into consideration what he told them.

Listening to both ends of a story really helps you understand where people are coming

from and makes it easy to help them.

In addition junior high students should understand that it's always a good idea to

help others. An example of helping others in the movie is when the girl found Ricky

wandering around near her house. She could have left him there or even called the

police but she didn't, she gave him food and somewhere to sleep for the rest of the

night. If said girl didn't help Ricky than he would have never met them and maybe never

found help. In the end Ricky ended up getting adopted into their family, because they

helped him and everybody thought that would be a good family for him.

These three life lessons actually are helpful in living a positive life. Change isn't

always bad, always listen to both sides of a story and it's always a good idea to help

others are three major life lessons that junior high students should understand and Hec

and Ricky showed them very well. Yes, all life lessons apply to your life, you may not
think so at the moment but sooner or later they will come into play. therefore one should

be aware of how important these lessons are in life.
