CAS Stages complete questions below:

1) Investigation - what are your goals for this CAS experience?
The main goal for this CAS experience is just to be a good person in the community,
donating and using my talents for a good cause. This fundraiser will raise money that
will be used for the care of children that have been sent to Grand Bahama to go to
school whose parents are unable to financially support them fully. The concert will take
place in Abaco, and in addition to the previous goal, I hope to become a better
drummer, and broaden my horizons in terms of musical genres that I can play.

2) Preparation briefly identify your plan of action and include an approximate

timeline.
In the weeks leading up to this concert, I will regularly attend practices and devote as
much of my time as I possibly can to learning all of the songs that are going to be
played.

3) Action - how will you accomplish your goals? Who will be involved?
Firstly, I will familiarize myself with the list of songs in preparation for the practices.
There are over 20 songs that are going to be played of various genres such as reggae,
disco, pop, etc. I will need to do some serious work pertaining to this seeing as I am the
drummer, and I will be the one setting the tempo for the songs, so it is very important
that I know them all well enough to be able to recall the tempo from memory. This is my
first time being the drummer for the duration of a whole concert in a while, so I will have
to make time available on a weekly basis to practice drum rudiments and techniques to
rebuild my stamina, because being the drummer for a whole concert isnt easy if you
arent fully prepared. I will attend practices with the other musicians in the weeks
leading up to the performance to get a feel for everyone else in the band and their play
styles, and also to get a feel for how the songs will flow throughout the different sets.
The good thing is that I have played with some of the people in the band for previous
musical performances, so most of us know each other pretty well, and we all know what
is expected from each other in order to be able to deliver a quality performance.

4) Reflection - what were your expectations? What did you hope to gain from this
experience? What did you learn? What are your next steps? How are the Learner
Profile attributes incorporated?
Going into this I expect it to be very demanding and time consuming. This concert has
arisen during a very busy time in school, with me having to deal with preparation for
both internal and external examinations amongst all of this, so time management is
going to be critical for me to excel in both events. Overall I just hope to become a
better, and more well-rounded person from this, being conscious of those around me.
Additionally, I hope to become a better drummer it is always good to be a part of
something like this, or anything musical for that fact, because it develops my talent and
allows me to put it on display for others to see. I love doing my part, specifically when
Im helping others out in the community, and this will no doubt be for a good cause, so I
am just happy to be able to be a part of this experience. I will continue to devote my
time to getting ready and prepared for this concert so that I will be able to deliver the
best performance that I possibly can. The following Learner Profiles are incorporated in
this experience: Communicators Music is a language and largely a form of
communication that is shared with others; Open minded I am ready to take in every
available opportunity and learning experience from this CAS experience; Balanced
This experience requires for me to balance my time properly and effective in order to be
able to manage the stressful school life and this at the same time.

5) Demonstration what evidence will you use to show you have completed your
goals?
I will provide photo evidence.
