Unit Plan
Unit Planning Organizer
Subject: Computer Technology / Language Arts
Grade: 4
Unit/Topic: Digital Storyboard / Animation
Date and Unit Duration: March 7 - March 23
Project Overview Description and link to student engagement (rationale):
We have planned for my student to collaborate with another student to produce a
bi-lingual animated story of a retelling of a fairytale and animating the story. I plan to
allow the students to have a choice in the story they chose, with the limitation being to
Disney or familiar fairytales. They will have the creative ability to retell the story and add
their own dramatizations. To do so, the students will animate the scene on Pivot animator
and then record an audio to tell the story. We will use Garageband to overlay sounds
effects to add to the animation. If there is enough time, we plan to incorporate french
either directly into the story, or create a french scene. This will allow the students to not
only work collaboratively, but also creatively and incorporate another language.
