An Act for appointing a Commissioner

WHEREAS it is expedient that the '[State Govern- Preamble.

(Central Act XV of 1874), s. 4 and the Seco~ldSchedule. t o be in
force in the whole of the State of Tumil Nadu except the terri.
torics mentioned in the Sixth Schedule to that Act.
This Act was extended to the merged State of Pudukkottai
by section 3 of, and the First Schedule to, the Tamil Nadu Merged
States (Laws) Act, 1949 (Tamil Nadu Act XXXV of 1949).
This Act was extended to the Kanyakumari district and the
Shencottah taluk of the Tirunelveli district by section 3 of, end
the Schedule to, the Tumil Nadu (Transforred Territory) Extension
of Lmws Act, 1957 (Tamil Nadu Act XXII of 1967), repealing the
corresponding law in force in tbet territory.
Thene words were substituted for tho word ''Madras " by the
Tam11 Nedu Adaptation of Laws Order, 1969, as amended by the
Tamil Nadu Adaptation of Laws (Second Amendment) Order,
1969, whioh came into force on the 14th January 1969.

ing to any such commission shall be deposited on the

An Act for securing the Land-revenue of M a w .
WHEREASit is expedient that the land-revenue pmamble,

oertained and collected in as summary a manner as
in other parts of the territories under the Government
