Tricks to wheelie
To do a wheelie you just have to deliver a solid pedal stroke and pull the
handlebar towards you. You need to find a balance point and then cycle on
just as much as to keep the wheel in the air. It is very important you always
keep a finger on the rear brake and use it if you are rolling backwards.
Your arms should remain rigid and well stretched and you shouldn't worry
because you can't fall forward while using the rear brake as the weight is
being held back by the outstretched arms.
You might rather have the sensation of falling back but, by giving a gentle tap
on the brake, your balance is restored. It might sound difficult but it is easier to
do it than to explain it.
It takes a pinch of boldness to wheelie with expertise but just try it out and you
will understand why I do it in my sprint finish, when I can, to celebrate my
victory. You will feel an adrenaline rush throughout your body and you will
feel as if you were flying!

don't start too late as you might not have enough time to reach the maximum

The steeper the slope it, the more backward you must be. You need to find
your own balance and bicycle stability in order to feel the ground vibrations
better.
It is crucial you keep only two fingers on the brake levers, normally the middle
and index fingers, so you can always grab onto the handlebar with the other
fingers and be in full control.
