Summary on Steppingstones chapter 7

In this book steppingstones the three goals that the principal Lloyd Den Boer had in mind when

he present to his staff a school wide integral unit seems much more effective he was thinking of a

400 students to have a meaningful experience. Secondly, he also thought about the teachers

curriculum planning skills and the last one on the relationship between the intermediate teachers

and the primary teachers. Principal did not stop assisting the staff as in general Den Boer and a

consultant together drew up a proposal for a one week unit. Also showed how the unit could

help students to connect on the biblical way and helped the teachers to develop a thematic

statement. The author of the book also emphasized the Gods given resources that were

destroyed. In addition, due to the proper unit planning and the hard work of teachers results

them towards success consequently designing the proper unit planning is a notable. As teachers

says us every time that you need to know where you are taking the students? as furthermore

the author illustrate the main thing here as unit planning helps to take everything in a proper time

proper place. And the important thing he mentioned here is students can undergo with the

essential units if the teachers plan in a good way. Furthermore, it focuses on the integral unit

which is a portion of a course or program that has a clear thematic focus as has internal unity,

and external consistency, In the meantime, he also describes the characteristics of an integral

unit which is comprise remarkable and not stick to the specific but also on the others too
Moreover, the author here explains good integral units. This integral unit not only the specific

things but also cover the whole aspects. This chapter gives the relevant ideas on the unit planning

how it looks and how can it relate with the biblical worldview. To sum up, integral unit planning

plays an important role and has a clear thematic focus with internal unity. Determining the

significance and relevance topic is the one effective unit. As a whole this chapter has the

important concept on how the effective unit planning looks like as it includes the important

factors of the unit planning. It also talks about planning a schedule, examining the effectiveness

of unit. There are some important point which are effective in making an effective unit plan.

Overall, this chapter gives an important detail on the good unit plan.
