It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Hannah Lynch.

As an advisor, Hannah has

idealized the values of our advising program; she is professional, responsive, and engaged. As both a grade
level Dean and the Assistant Dean I have always felt secure whenever I knew Hannah was dealing with an issue
of one of her advisees. I knew the issue would be handled promptly and with respect.

As competent as she is with her individual advisees, Hannah also consistently demonstrates the ability to think
about the class as a whole. She is a voice of reason and insight when thinking about how to best approach the
class, drawing not only on her best practices but also models from other schools. As an adult collaborator, she
shines.

Hannah is also able to build trust with parents of students. Recently, when a parent was revealing a major life
change her daughter was going through, I asked if shed let the advisor, Hannah, know. The mother took that
opportunity to go on for five minutes about Hannahs excellent qualities and the exceptional support shed
already been for her daughter. Again, Hannahs competence shines through.

In my role as Dean, I look at the advisors of each class as my team assigned to work with that grade
level. Hannah serves a necessary role as a Junior Advisor. That role, as mentor, advisor, regulator, and tone
setter, cannot be filled by just anyone. It takes an individual with the right professional skills and
characterological predilections. The Bay school is fortunate to have found such a highly competent teacher in
Hannah Lynch.
