DELMIA V5 DPM ASSEMBLY SIMULATION

Accessing DPM Assembly Process Simulation Workbench

Go to Start Digital Process for Manufacturing DPM- Assembly Process


Simulation to access the DPM Assembly process simulation workbench.

Steps to create DPM Assembly simulation


Step1: - Call the product or resources in the PPR tree as shown below.

Commands Used: -
Insert Product

Insert Resource.
Step 2: - Create the Process library and add processes under Process List as shown
below.

Commands Used: -
Go to File New Process Library and create new activity type

Save this Process Library

Go to Activity Management Insert Activity Library. Select the process file created
and Process library will be mapped with current file.

Go to Activity Management Insert Activity. Activities will be inserted as shown


above.
Step 3: - Assign products and resources to the respective processes created in the PPR
tree.
Commands Used: -

Select the Product and then the process to which the product is to assign.
Select the Resource and then the process to which the product is to assign.

Step 4: - Use of Compass for Moving the products and resources.


Commands Used: - 1) Right click on the compass and select Snap automatically to
selected object.

2) Go to Edit in above snap and define the Translation and Rotation values.
Step 5: - Create different activities for the products and resources.

Commands Used: - Create required activities below every process node using below
commands
1) Create View Point Activity.
2) Create Visibility Activity.
3) Create a Text Message Activity.
4) Create a Pause Activity.
5) Create a Delay Activity.
6) Create a Move Activity.

Define proper start and end time for each activity created in the Process list.
Creating a Move Activity.

Go to Move Activity Select reference activity in the Process List Select the
product/resource to move.

The complete Product and Resource simulation can be created using the above
mentioned steps
Step 6: - Generating the PERT Chart and Gantt chart.
Commands Used: -

Step 7: - Capturing the video of the simulation created.


Commands Used: - Go to Tools Image Video

Define all the required attributes in the Video Properties window and click OK
Go to Simulation Process Simulation Command, keeping open the Video Recorder
window

Play the simulation and press the record button in video recorder window the video will
be recorded and saved at the location mentioned in Video Properties window.
