This was summer of changes in Baskonia.

After amazing last season campaign, paving their way to the Euroleague
Final Four, many of their players found themselves as hot commodity on the market, including last season coach
Perasovic who ended up on Anadolu Efes bench.Sito Alonso, who did great job with Bilbao with small budget, took
over this Baskonia team which lost their best players from last season (Borousis,James went to PAO, Adams moved
to China) but managed to keep their role players, who were also important for last season success.Key aditions for
this season are 4 ex NBA players, 3 of them from Brooklyn Nets: Shane Larkin,speedy guard , Andrea Bargnani , who
will find himself playing in Europe again and Chase Budinger their newest addition .Rodrigue Beaubois a.k.a Roddy
Buckets spent his NBA time in Dallas and intriguing German big guy Voigtmann.

Even though they lost their best players, this team will keep their identity from last season thanks to players they
managed to retain, role players who will infect new additions with their fighting spirit and hustle.Both Larkin and
Roddy Buckets possess amazing quickness and athleticism and could make combo as deadly and entertaining as
last season backcourt James-Adams.Bargs gonna Bargs but even as such, he can help this team offensively on many
ways and spread the floor for their lightining-quick guards.Adam Hanga is a captain and star in the making, he had
amazing campaign with his national team, led his Hungary to Eurobasket ticket next summer, he will be major
weapon for coach Alonso this season where he will establish himself as one of the best wings in Euroleague.Alonso
will have lots of quality role players on his disposal including Jaka Blazic,Kim Tillie and Toko Shengelia who will get
expanded role this year. Healthy Baskonia is definitely a playoff team who can make some noise there and they will
try to bring down some giants like they did last season.

Early in the season, team from Vitoria struggled to get healthy.Some of their guys got injured early and they decided
to bring 2 month guy, Cuse product Trevor Cooney as shooting specialist, to cover some holes in their rotation.This
Baskonia team is good but lacks real depth beside starting lineup and few role players from the bench.They tend to
play with a lot of energy whole game but sometimes they run out of gas and make some ill-advised plays late in the
game due to fatigue.Key is to find a way to dose that energy over entire 40 minutes.Baskonia is certainly going to
try to replicate last season success.This might not come to frutition because, despite bringing quality additions,
Borousis impact from last season might be tough to replace.Its still a quality team, definitely a playoff candidate
baring any major injury to key players, but its gonna be tough to make Final Four back to back seasons. Their guard
position is kinda thin with only Larkin as Euroleague starting caliber player who is backed up with ex Partizan player
Josh Akognon.Roddy Buckets had bad luck with injuries recently and this team upside will depend heavily on whether
this team can stay healthy, considering the fact that Baskonia will play in best domestic league in Europe and having
30 Euroleague will add to wear and tear on already handfull of injury prone players on their roster.
