My clothes came from 16 different countries, or at least 100 of them did. Because countries trade with one another, my
clothes come from all over the world. Another reason my clothes came from all over is, sometimes the supply and demand
is high for certain items and the countries can't supply them, so they have to get the products from other places. China was
my largest percentage. I am not sure why so many of my clothes came from China, but a lot of them do. About 2% of the
almost 20 billion items sold in the United States actually came from the US. The United States and China must have strong
trading relationships, because a lot of my clothes came from there, 38%! If China doesn't pay their workers very high, for
example, they will have more money to ship their products. Also, as an example, in the US, say you can't work more than
40 hours per week and in China, you can work however many hours you want. In China, they may be working a lot
longer, and they will produce more clothes. Not with those numbers, but that is what goes on in the US and other countries.
Therefore, a lot of the clothes sold in the US come from China and other foreign countries. Without trading with other
countries, the United States either would have to step it up and produce way more clothing, or we would be doomed with
very little clothing production. I am very glad for trade, expecially clothing trade, because without it, who knows where the
United States would be.
