ARTIST STATEMENT
What is an artist statement?

A general introduction to your work, a body of work, or a specific project.

Your artist statement is about facts, a basic introduction to your art; it's not instructions
on what to experience, what to think, how to feel, how to act, or where to stand, and if it
is, you better do a rewrite. Please answer the questions below & then compose your
artist statement in paragraph form. The artist statement should be 3-5 paragraphs
including 3-5 sentences each.

1. Why do you make art? What inspires you?

I make art to express my talents and skills. What inspires me are my thoughts,
feelings and my past art works that I made.

2. How did you choose your logo idea? What was your thought process on your
designs?

I just typed out my name and moved the letters around and changed their
size/shape until it looked unique.

3. What does your logo and trademark mean to you?

My logo to me means what I represent, who I am, and what I do.

4. Explain your symbolism. What does each part signify &/or represent?

The way my name is hard to read represents the way I am hard to read because I
am so quite.

5. What is unique/special about your logo and trademark?

It is my middle and first name which is very unique to me because there are a lot
of people that have the same name as me but nobody has their name spelled the
same as mine

6. What tool/technique did you like the best that you used to create your logo?

The tool that worked best for me was the warp tool to warp the letter in the right
way so they fit together good.

7. What was the most challenging part about creating a logo from scratch?

The hardest part about starting from scratch was just not knowing where to start.

8. How does your logo connect to your TM?

My name is in my logo and my initials are in my trademark

9. Were you able to transform your idea into a graphic? Or did your plan change?

10. How did you incorporate detail into your design?

I added extra lines going through the letters to add more detail

11. How did you incorporate color into your graphic?

I made the letters blue

12. How did you include value changes and contrast?

the letters have value because they have the light shine on it

13. What is the most successful part of your logo/trademark?

I did great making it unique and still having the letters in my name able to read.

14. What needs some work?

I could make the letters have more character and not look so dull
