Act 1 Timeline
1. A huge fight breaks out disturbing the
peace of Verona. The fight was caused
by two servants of the Capulet family
bit their thumb, The servants wanting
the two members of the Montague
family to start the fight first.
3. Count Paris asks Capulet for Juliets
hand in marriage. Capulet first tells
Count he must wait two more years, but
changes his mind. Capulet allows Count
to marry Juliet only is he wins her heart.
5. We meet Juliet and the nurse. Lady
Capulet comes to find Juliet to talk
about the proposal. The nurse interrupts
and starts rambling on and on. Once the
nurse stops, they are able to discuss.
Juliet has not thought about marriage,
and seems as if she does not want to
be. Lady Capulet then tell her to just go
to the family and look at him.
7. Mercutio then creates a story about
Queen Mab of the fairies. The story
explains how stories are not to be
believed. It ends dramatically and
emotionally show the deeper dark layer
of Mercutio.
9. Romeo and his friends arrive to the
2. Benvolio seeks out Romeo to figure
out what is the cause of his strange
behavior. Romeo seem to be depressed
about a woman, Rosaline, that he loves,
yet she does not show any interest in
Romeo at all. Benvolio tries to tell
Romeo that there are many other
beautiful people in the the world, but
Romeo insists.
4. Capulet sends his servant, who can
not read, to invite all the people who
are listed on the paper. The servant
runs into Romeo and Benvolio then asks
for them to help. As return for Romeo
and Benvolios help, the servant invited
them to the party as long as they arent
members of the Montague family, which
they are.
6. Romeo, Benvolio, Mercutio, and
about five to six other of their friends
are walking on the streets of Verona on
their way to the party. Romeo feels it
wont go so well since he saw it in his
dream.
8. The servants are rushing trying to get
the house ready for the party that night;
the guests were coming soon.
10. In their disguise, Romeo and Juliet
party. Tybalt recognizes Romeos voice kiss in the middle of the dance floor.
and knows he is not of the Capulet They then learn each other's identity
family. Tybalt tells Capulet and offers to afterwards.

down, they will do something about it
