Reflective Practice
& Critical
Reflection

2. POSITIVE EVIDENCE OF GOOD/BEST PRACTICE (3 key points)

1 Professional appearance and presence. Nice positive learning
atmosphere created. Students used to working in pairs in a
constructive way. Well-structured rules and routines and good
firm but fair classroom management

2 Demonstration with 2nd YR group was very well structured and

clear with student involvement and good questioning.

3
Positive evidence of ability to reflect and extract keys for
personal professional development

3. GUIDELINES FOR IMPROVEMENT (3 key points)

1 Design process is at the core of MTW syllabus. Explore ways of
introducing the process gradually through 1st to 3rd year. Even
if a project is chosen by the co-operating teachers the process
can be used with effect.

2 Higher Order questioning is referred to but without examples

and,as a result very little evident in lessons. Opportunities
arose that could have been better utilised: when the issue
arose with the marking gauge and piece of incorrect
dimensions

3 Visible lesson targets and more opportunities should be

created for active learning. Student survey needs to be
completed the re-cap and end of lesson need attention. It is as
important as the set induction.
