2. POSITIVE EVIDENCE OF GOOD/BEST PRACTICE (3 key points)

1 Very thorough recap on previous learning, much improvement shown
on questioning particularly higher order questions (questions still need
to be included in the lesson plans).

2 Very good demonstration with very clear instructions. Well thought

through and delivered with confidence. Good use of names and
personable in his approach. (students should be using a sanding block
if they are sanding flat pieces so as not to round any edges)

3
From conversation with co-operating teachers and from observation of
Seans reflections and class he was seen to be very receptive to offers
for help and improvement. He has settled very well into the school
environment and

3. GUIDELINES FOR IMPROVEMENT (3 key points)

1 From observation Sean has shown a very high level of teaching skills.
His classes were well structured and his classroom management skills
were very strong. Likewise, his subject knowledge is very high and he
is competent in his subject matter. There is a need however in your
final TP to display a greater utilization of these skills to experiment
with more creative educational approaches. I would recommend
focusing on a particular aspect of your teaching and concentrate on
exploring various ways to develop your skills. These creative
strategies show be recorded in your lesson plans and reflections.

2 Lesson plans need to be more specific as to the learning involved at

the various stages for example Reinforce best practice. Does not
indicative what you have highlighted as best practice. Simply add
either bullet points or key questions of the points that you are
stressing. 1)before making out face side and edge 2) how to set the
marking gauge 3) how to hold and use the marking gauge (dont dig
the spur in too deep).
3 One practical tip for your DCG SolidWorks class where you are faced
with some timetabling difficulties (students timetabled for Zumba
class just before). If you know that this is going to be an issue you can
try and minimise its effect on the lesson. For example, you could use
your weebly e-portfolio to place ready made parts ready for the
students to download. If you are moving on to assemblys, this can
help you concentrate on the new learning related to assemblies

without having to get the pupils to draw each piece from scratch.
