o Adolph Zukor opened Famous Players Film Company in Hollywood,

California on May 8th 1912.
o Today, the company is known as Paramount Pictures and is consistently
ranked as one of the "Big Six" film studios of Hollywood
o Paramount Pictures is the longest operating major studio in Hollywood and
has almost a century of experience in film and television production.
OWNERSHIP: PARAMOUNT PICTURES

o Paramount Pictures owns several subsidiary companies, including

Nickelodeon Movies, MTV Films, Comedy Central Films, Republic Pictures,
famous studios, United international pictures, etc.
o These different subsidiary companies cover a range of different audiences,
for example Nickelodeon for children, mtv/comedy central for adults
o In 2015, Paramount pictures raked in a total revenue of $2.885 billion
dollars through box office box office sales globally.

o Star Trek Beyond was produced by multiple
companies including Skydance Media, Alibaba
Pictures, Huahua Media, Bad Robot Productions,
Sneaky Shark, and Perfect Storm Entertainment
o The movie had a budget of $185 million USD
o The director was Justin Lin, who also directed the
popular car movies, Fast and Furious.
o The main characters are James Pine as James T.
Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Anton Yelchin as
Pavel Chekov, etc.
o Star Trek Beyond was written by Simon Pegg and
Doug Jung, and produced by J. J. Abrams, Roberto
Orci, Lindsey Weber, and Justin Lin
PRODUCTION: STAR TREK BEYOND

o The film was shot in four different countries: United Arab Emirates, Canada, South Korea
and the United States of America.
o However, a large portion of the movie takes place using special effects making seem as if it
is in space.
o The Paramount Pictures studio in Hollywood, California was also used in the making of this
film
o Music was mostly used from precious Star Trek movies and the composer was Michael
Giacchino
o A few songs included: Logo and Prosper, "The Dance of the Nebula, "A Lesson in Vulcan
Mineralogy, and "Star Trek Main Theme.

o Distributed by Paramount Pictures

o Released in theaters on July 22nd, 2016
o It is soon to be release on DVD and Blu-Ray on
November 1st, 2016 in stores and on popular online
stores such as Amazon. Pre-orders are already
available
o The original movie is only English; however, the
DVD/Blu-Ray version will be dubbed in the popular
languages of French, Portuguese, Spanish, and
German
o Star Trek has a large audience to distribute to,
approximately 40% of Americans claim they are fans of
Star Trek

o A trailer of the Dictator was

released on YouTube on
December 14th,2015. It has
nearly has 17 million views.
o The first teaser trailer was
released on December 14th,
2015; however, fans were not
to fond of it.

o Paramount then released two more trailers.

One on May 20th, 2016, and the last one on
June 27th, 2016.
o The final trailer also had a guest appearance
if pop superstar Rihanna. Her new song
Sledgehammer was included in the trailer,
which caught the attention of many fans.
MERCHANDISE: STAR TREK BEYOND

o Star Trek is a very popular film series globally

and many fans buy merchandise
o This year was Star Treks 50th anniversary, so
multiple collectors items were sold and are
very hard to obtain.
o The popular movie also has an official
merchandise website dedicated to them,

o Different items can be purchased from t-shirts,
toys, mugs, costumes, collectors items, etc.
EXCHANGE: STAR TREK BEYOND

o Star Trek Beyond has around 12 different release dates globally. The dates span from July 22nd , 2016
and is still yet to be released in Japan on October 21st, 2016.
o The initial budget was $185 million USD
o It made a domestic box office of around $157 Million USD, and an International box office of $175
Million USD, putting it at a total of about $330 million
o Nonetheless, it unknown at this point of the revenue of DVD and Blu-Ray sales
